[3rd Person POV]

It was a beautiful night, the moon is full, the stars are shiny, and Y/N is currently outside Team RWBY's room.

It had been a few days after Y/N recovered from a terrible fever, and his relationship with Pyrrha improved greatly.

While things might be great for the past few days, things are currently spiralling out of control.

Weiss and Blake stared to argue with each other for the past 10m,
Y/N tried his best to stop it from getting worse, but loud voices were triggering him so bad that he had to exit the room and wait right next to the door.

He really wished to try and help out, he really did...but the yelling and the irritated expressions were giving him flashbacks of how his mother would look at him, and what awaits him.

The poor boy was covering his ears in fear, using his earphones with Summer's recordings as a way to block out the noise, he knows he isn't a good friend nor is he of any help to them, in fact, he's a burden,

But he wants to try his best, to be a better friend, just to pay back all of their kindness to him.

Though it seemed he isn't able to do it.

"Being a hunter is, like, the coolest job ever!! You're able to protect the weak and kick Grimm butt! Though I think that being a hunter needs multiple qualities..."

Summer's voice was comfort to
Y/N in his times of need, and now, he needed courage, something to push him forward.

"One needs to have a cool weapon!!!"

'O-Of course she'd say that...'
Y/N though in his mind with a soft chuckle

"And...one needs to be brave, humble, courageous, loving, compassionate, and most importantly..."

"...they need to be able to smile through all the pain."

After Summer's voice said this line, Y/N had another flashback, but not of his actual mother, but the one who is more of a mother than his biological one will ever be.

Their last meeting...her words to him, their promise to each other,

And her smile...the last time he ever saw her smile as she patted his head, she was bloodied and in pain, but she smiled through it all and talked to Y/N as she would before the unfortunate turn of events.

It reminded Y/N of why he even wanted to become a Hunter...

But he can't just be a Hunter, he needs to be the Hunter that Summer would be proud of,

and how can he do that if he isn't even following any of the qualities that Summer believed that a Hunter should have...?

He doesn't want to be the one that let's her down when they finally see each other.

Y/N took off the earphones and put it in his bag along with the scroll, he stood up and straightened himself out.

Though he may be unable to smile or be the number of things a hunter should be, perfectly...

...he can still make an effort, one step at a time.

"I...I won't cower t-this time..."

Y/N heard the multiple shouts and yelling in the room, it was really giving him anxiety, but he gripped the sleeves of his hoodie and prepared to enter the dorm...

But before he can knock, the door burst open, knocking him to the ground.

He looked up to see Blake, with tears on her eyes, visibly guilty for number of things, and even accider hurting the boy.
