Chapter Six

'Welcome Doctor Roger, it's nice to be able to welcome you to our lands and hopefully into our pack' Alex says as he shakes the doctors hand with a smile,
'Thank you Alpha Alex for this meeting I really do appreciate it' so as you can probably guess I am now working over time. I am now sitting in a meeting with Alex and the new doctor, I am only here because there is children involved and someone from the school needs to be here, and as I am currently based at the school, and I am the main person who gets to deal with the principal it falls on me to be apart of the meeting and I'll be informing the principal the out come of this meeting tomorrow at school, which is just saving Alex a job I swear, I mean how hard would it be for the principal to come to this meeting? I am kinda excited to be in this meeting though because this is a first time a human could be welcome into the pack as a doctor with no direct link to any of our packs as a chosen mate. And to be honest I am quite interested to see how this turns out, also I have so many questions to ask the doctor myself, if Alex let's me that is. As the doctor reaches out to shake my hand I can't keep myself quiet any longer.
'I must ask how do you know about our kind?'
The doctor smiles at me, Alex gives me a look of warning, yeah I spoke out of line and yes Alex is the one who meant to be asking the questions, I know I probably shouldn't have asked him and I'll definitely be in trouble for it later, but it will so be worth it just to find out the answers to my questions.
'Um sorry for my bluntness, I've just never meet a human who knows about our kind without being a chosen mate, please forgive my rudeness' Doctor Roger starts to laugh.
'It's fine I get it all the time, that is when I get the chance to visit packs, my father was an assistant to a pack doctor, the doctor found him abandon as a child and as the doctor was mateless he took him in as his own, he trained my father to be able to treat wolves and humans, I've followed in my fathers footsteps. And believe me Beta Max it's not always chosen mates that are human, there can be humans as mates too it's rare but it does happen....' I get too excited and interrupt him.
'Really? I only thought it was chosen mates that was human. And your wife is she aware of our kind?' I am so interested now what the doctor has to say.
'No there are the rare occasions that humans are mates, but it's complicated for me to explain. And as for my wife she has no idea neither does my daughter or son'
'Oh wow' I say as I slump back into the chair behind me,
'Oh sorry Alpha' Alex is giving me a hard look.
'Thanks Max, please do excuse my brother as you can tell he's quite fascinated with you. Now on with our meeting, I've been told you've apply to work in the pack hospital? May I ask why?'
'Yes I feel it's important for me to carry out my father work as he was very grateful for the pack doctor he called father and so am I, it's so hard with me to actually carry out any work in pack hospital a lot of Alphas don't want humans on their lands unless they are mates or chosen mates, and I just don't find satisfaction from working in a human hospital ' Alex just nods.
'Understandable. And you won't be living on the pack lands?'
'No my family house will be near the school but close enough for me to get to the pack hospital if that's ok?' Alex just smiles at the doctor, in fact it actually quite a weird smile, I ain't sure if he's happy or if Tia is mind linking him.
'That's fine, I am willing to give you a trial here my father always respected your... Umm grandfather's work so it would be nice to have a part of him here, we do actually need a human doctor as some of our pack does have human mates, all chosen mates i am afraid, and obviously it's very hard for my pack doctor to treat them, it puts my pack members on edge when they have to go to the human hospital with their mates.'
'Oh I understand that Alpha Alex'
'Our pack doctor doesn't have a lot of training when it come to humans, but obviously you'll be able to assist him with our pack members too, so if you don't mind doing both?'
'Oh thank you Alpha Alex that's perfect, exactly what I am looking forward' he stands up to shake Alex's hand again.
'I look forward to you working within my pack doctor Roger, I am sorry this is a short meeting but I am more than happy for Max and the principal to make arrangements for your children. I am afraid I have to leave my mate has just mind linked me she's having a craving and the baby is kicking' Alex says with a proud smile to his face, yuck seeing him loved up is weird.
'Oh no Alpha Alex that's understandable and congratulations to you and your mate'
'Thank you, well if everyone is happy I am happy to end our meeting here' he says as he leads the doctor out of his office, I guess he forgot about me.
