Is someone there?

Maya and Karina looked at each other worried, then they started heading towards where the scream had come from.
They whispered Sarah's name and proceeded cautiously.

"Karina, look" Maya tug on Karina's coat and pointed somewhere behind a desk.

Karina squinted her eyes.
The edge of a jacket was sticking out from behind the desk.
The two of them got nearer and looked behind it.
Sarah was crouching under it, shivering.
The girls crouched beside her.

Sarah started to speak: "Guys...my jacket was pulled...it had almost got me...I bloody hate this place".

Maya put a hand on her knee.
"You're with us now".

"This is...odd..." Said Karina.

"Let's think about it for a minute...
There are two possibilities: either we're really in danger or someone's having fun playing some kind of trick on us..." she stared at Karina.

"Quit staring at me, I'm not playing any trick!".

Now Maya sounded less calm than usual.
"Yes, maybe you're telling the truth...but this is YOUR parents' office, YOU brought us here and YOU ACCIDENTALLY lost the keys!
I don't even know you, so why should I trust you?
...And what's with that constant blank expression of yours, uh?".

"Ahah! Now this is funny!" She made an impression of Maya "Hi, I'm Maya, a calm disciplined and politically correct student, who tends to accuse people around her, because she's not able to overcome difficulties herself!".

The two girls stared at each other angrily for a while, then Sarah spoke: "Maya, come on...Karina would never do something like that...".

"Are you seriously backing her?".

"Are you jealous, Maya?" Teased Karina.

Then, they suddenly heard footsteps and hid themselves even more under the desk.

"Karina..." Sarah was speaking as low as she could "swear that you haven't made this up".

"I swear".

Sarah nodded, then she turned to Maya.
"Maya?".

"...alright...we'll all need to cooperate after all...follow me".

Maya went out of the shelter, followed by her mates. They crawled on the floor until they reached one of the windows.
"Listen, now I'll try to open it, trying to be as silent as possible and when I've made it, we'll all scream at the top of our lungs, understood?".

The girls nodded and Maya tried to open the window.
"...I can't!".

"It must've hardened within the years" tried to explain Sarah "try with that one!".

Maya crouched once again and they started crawling one more time towards another window.
Soon, they saw another shadow wandering, so they immediately stood up and raised their pace.
At a certain point, they stopped.
A column stood in front of them.
Trying to get round it would have probably been risky, it was too dark, so they looked around them.
Then, Karina felt something touching her shoulder and she started running fast, not knowing where Sarah and Maya were, anymore.
She heard them calling out for her, but she couldn't stop.
Suddenly, she hit a door, which got broken by the impact and Karina fell down.

Maya and Sarah were able to reach her, but when they saw the room in which Karina had fallen, they couldn't help being astonished.
