I laid on my bed flipping through a book when Jaune knocked and entered my room.

"Hey, you got a second?" the shaggy-haired blonde asked.

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked while sitting up, making room for him.

He sat on the bed and looked at me. "You okay? I mean, you've been through a lot in the past year or two; transferring to Beacon, dealing with the Grimm attack, the fall of Beacon, losing him in the confusion, the journey here."

"Jaune, thank you for checking up on me. I'm fine, honestly, I know I'll find him one day. But right now we need to focus on making sure Haven is safe."

"Wait, what do you mean?"

"Don't you think it's strange how Lionheart suddenly made a breakthrough with the council? How would he of all people make a breakthrough when he was out of contact with Oz for a very long time?"

"Are you saying it's set up?"

"Yes, Jaune, Leo is setting us up. Something is gonna go down tonight, and we need to be prepared for it."

Jaune rose to his feet and clenched his fists, "we need to tell Qrow and Oz."

He started to leave the room as I spoke up. He froze when he heard my voice.

"Jaune... we have one shot to make sure what happens tonight count. If I don't make it-"

"Don't say that. We aren't losing anyone tonight." I looked at him, as he looked at me. "Beacon is not happening again."

"Yes, sir."

He smirked at me, "I'm not your captain."

"My team is gone, Jaune, and I came from Atlas and we value that chain of command. Now, you go warn Qrow about what I said, I'm gonna work on my semblance."

He nodded and left the room.

Now, you're probably asking 'what's your semblance? What's she gonna do?' Well, here's my semblance. I have the ability to conjure lightning. It all started when my brother and I were younger. Our father was an Atlas Scientist, and he and his team were attempting to create soldiers to fight back the Grimm. Where they altered the DNA of people and crafted them into Grimm Slayers. Sady, the program ended when a fire erupted in the research facility, trapping most of the personnel, including our father. We have yet to go back there and doubt we ever will. We occasionally hear stories of people still hearing screams and roar coming from the region.

I was part of that program. My brother and I both were.

We underwent mutations and even had to give up certain aspects of normal life to have this happen, but we think it was worth it. Being able to stand on the front lines and give the Grimm hell? Who wouldn't want to do that?

My brother has the ability to heal faster, hit harder, and even use a little magic. I, on the other hand, only use magic. Conjuring lightning is just a small thing compared to the things I've done to the Grimm. Impaling them with ice, setting them on fire, and even leveling whole battlefields.

Alright, so maybe the last one didn't really happen, what are you gonna do? Sue me?

Most of the time, I stick to lightning to make people think I just have an electrical semblance. But I can throw a ball of energy and call down several strikes of lightning. I can conjure lighting in my hands and send it towards an enemy at short range. But my signature ability is my favorite. With enough Aura, I can conduct a beam of electric energy towards the enemy for a short period. I'm very tired afterward but it is worth the effort. today, I wanted to work on a new ability. Causing an electrical surge around me, blowing back anyone and anything in my way.

I sat down on my bed and held both of my hands out in front of me. I took a deep breath and clenched both of them into a fist and quickly opened them to create an electrical discharge and formed an arc bolt between my hands which persisted and started to form a ball of arc energy. I smiled and clasped my hands together to trap the ball in my hands. I stood up and walked into the center of the room. I took the ball in my right hand and slammed it against the ground. Causing a surge of electricity in a circle around me. I smiled as I heard Ruby yelp. She came rushing into the room making sure I was okay. I assured her I was and I smiled at her.

"What was that?" Qrow asked while walking into the room.

"Let's just say I learned a new trick."

Oscar peaked into the room and smiled.

"Miss Vi," he said. Ozpin was in control at the moment. "Have you learned how to channel the storm?"

"Not yet."

"Then why don't I... help you?"

Ruby and I looked at each other and I looked back to nod. "Yes, sir."

--------------------------------------------

I knelt down on my left knee as Oz approached me. My left palm flat on the floor as he placed his hand on my shoulder. "Breathe." is all he said. I inhaled, feeling a spark of energy through my whole body. From my lips to my individual toes. I exhaled and felt the arc energy spark on my lips. I looked down at my hands to see the electricity arc between my fingers. I smiled and looked up at Oz. "How do you feel?"

I rose to my feet, took a few steps back and lifted my hands which ignited my whole body. I was covered in electricity and it lifted me off of the ground. I smiled and dropped my hands which dropped me.

"Like a hurricane."

"Harmony within," Oz said. "Hurricane without."

I smirked and nodded. We were ready for the night.
