"sheesh. this damn website with their ads." kamei shinnosuke blurted out flustered, looking side to side."why don't you just get an adblock extension or something?" you blurted out nonchalantly from the sofa, next to your other two employees, looking at your laptop and scanning you eyes over the screen for good websites to help cure your boredom. leaning back on the sofa, legs stretched out, every once and awhile stretching your hand out to the coffee table to grab something to munch on. you brought your hand up to stroked your throat up and down, to realize how parched you are, you stand stand up to a table that was meant for drinks, and prepared yourself some (coffee/tea). you saw haru from the corner of your eye walking in with stacks of binders and books.
"welcome back, haru." you greeted him in a blank tone. he greeted you back. you and haru have been working together on cases. he was entertaining to be around, hearing his opinions on justice, how determined he is on cases, and how much of a hard worker he is. you both hang out a lot too, mainly to eat out after missions. but lately both of you have been just a little distant, you didn't have any issues with that, of course. friendships naturally drift apart at some points every once and awhile.
the MCPTF was quiet at this time of day. and since you were finished with all your work that you were assigned, you were looking up interesting articles. most of those articles focusing on crimes, controversies, and fun facts. you had an earbud plugged into your ear too, at some points watching videos on certain topics that intriuged you, commentary entertained you a lot, scrolling through the comments and seeing what other people have to say, some of them even making fools out themselves. you found the jokes funny too, which was rare. sure you could go home if you wanted to, but you decided to stay since you had nothing better to do. you worked in the task for for only a year and a half. you got recommended and given the option to be in the first division, but you decided to just lay low over in this part of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
"i would, but i don't know how to." kamei responded rubbing the nape of his neck. you looked at him dumbfounded, also going the extra mile of giving him a resting bitch face.
"just clear out your history and restart your computer and see if that stops the ads." you kept clicking on your mouse pad to switch to different articles. "after all, i heard a rumour that your ads can correspond from your search history."
snickering can be heard in the background. kamei scoffed in disgust and in embarrassment. kato haru sits himself down beside kamei
"the first division are in a flurry. you heard anything?" haru asks, with that question your ears perked up in attention. even though you rejected the offer in joining the first division, that didn't stop you from being curious every once and awhile. sometimes you do regret joining the task force, but you liked the people here a lot so you decided to say. you did miss the action though. the exciting feeling. the feeling of pressure on you, to push to your best, in a situation that no one could ever understand, or relate to.
