Chester raised his arm and pressed his sweaty palm against Punk’s back. “Jared” he began to say as he caught his breath. “This is a good friend of mine and a big fan, CM Punk”.

His eyes looked over at each of the men as Punk raised a hand to greet Jared. Jared stared for a split second then gave a friendly smile. He placed his hand in Punk’s and shook it.

“It’s very nice to meet you. Your name sounds familiar; are you a wrestler?” he asked Punk, trying to make a friendly conversation.

Punk smiled back and gave a short chuckle.

“Yes I am, I’m actually the best in the world, but I have recently retired for biased reasons.” He took his hand back and slipped it into his pocket.

“Oh sorry to hear that. I bet you were a hell of a wrestler then.” He chuckled.

Punk laughed and nodded in agreement, “yeah well, it’s their loss. Vince’s doofus daughter decided to take over and shit all over the WWE. But y’know… she is just a fourth generation McMahon. She is no Vince McMahon.”

Jared laughed and brushed his hair behind his ear. He slipped his hand into his pocket and scratched the side of his nose.

“I guess Vince McMahon must have been a really good boss.”

“pfft” Punk laughed ignorantly, “please that Bozo doesn’t even know what he’s doing either. I’m surprised the WWE is still going on the way he runs that sad excuse of a business.”

“oh yeah, no kidding? That sounds bad. Haha” Jared giggled.

“I’m glad I left when I did. That company’s already headed down the toilet anyway.”

Shannon stepped out of the tour bus and tapped Jared on his shoulder “Yo.” Jared looked over at him “What’s up?”

“We’re heading out in half an hour. Just wanted to give you the heads up.”

“Alright, cool. Thanks.”

Shannon headed back inside and closed the door.

“Hey your performance tonight was pretty awesome.” CM Punk said to Jared as he scratched the back of his head.

Jared turned his head back to Punk’s direction and raised a brow. “oh you saw it?”

CM Punk nodded, “Yeah, your band has a pretty good sound. And you sang really well. I was actually pretty into it.”

Jared blushed a little and smiled. “Gosh, well thanks. I’m really happy to hear that you were here to watch us perform.”

“yeah well I should start heading back. I actually left AJ waiting for me in the car.”

“You have a daughter?” Jared questioned rather curiously.

“Hell no. Aj’s my wife.”

“Oh” Jared responded a little disappointed.

“I gotta get going. It was nice meeting you.” Punk stuck his hand out in front of him.

Jared gripped his hand and shook it slowly. “Alright, good night.”

CM Punk took his hand back and dashed back to the parking lot. He opened the door to his black camero and took off.

Jared watched as Punk’s headlights were no longer seen. He stood outside alone and moped.
