It had been a week since Jared and Punk had met and he could not erase the image of Jared’s baby blue eyes off of his mind.

Absentmindedly, he dialed Chester’s number.

“Hello.”

“Hey Chester, it’s Punk.”

“Hi Punk what’s up?”

“I was wondering if you’d mind if I came up to the show tonight?”

“Of course not! It’s always a pleasure to have you around!”

Since AJ was out of town tonight, Punk did not lose any more minutes and drove off to New York.

After he had passed the security, he wandered, falsely searching for Chester when all he really wanted to see was his intense blue stare.

“I can’t go on stage! You cannot expect me or any of the band members to deliver a great show when technicians aren’t able to do their jobs correctly!”

Punk smiled as he heard Jared’s voice despite the blatant rage in it. CM Punk curiously stepped in the direction of the outburst and as he leant against the door to hear more of the conversation, it slammed open and he was hit by a muscular body.

“What the f-!” screamed Jared in anger. He put the crown back on place on his head and lifted his eyes to the stranger’s face. His tone softened as he realized it was Punk.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Punk, I was – well never mind – did I hurt you?”

“I’m a wrestler remember? It’s not your frail yet muscular body that can hurt me.” Punk smirked and petted Jared’s shoulder. The latter blushed at the compliment.

“What are you doing here anyway?” asked Jared to change the subject.

I wanted to see you Punk wanted to answer but instead he said “Chester offered me to come around and as I was alone at home I accepted.”

Punk looked at his hands, avoiding Jared’s discomforting look.

“Jared!” Tomo shouted.

“I’m here” Jared headed towards the dressing room.

Punk couldn’t hear what was being said in that room so he waited outside until Chester appeared at the other end of the corridor.

“Hi Punk! Security guy told me you were here but I couldn’t find you.”

“Yeah, I was…” began Punk ill at ease.

“Ah Chester!” Shannon exited the dressing room and passed by the two men, pressing his bear paw on the singer’s back “problem solved, we’re going on stage.”

Jared – behind who Tomo was – followed his brother heading to the stage, but not without a discreet, almost nonexistent wink to Punk.
