I am ready to go home already. I really wish I had worn the other outfit that I had planned on wearing but I didn't wanna figure out if it would be cold today. Now I regret my decision because I am burning my balls off and that's not a good way to feel at the beginning of school. This is why Mother Nature needs to be a bit nicer to Belleville because I can't take these stupid weather changes.
"Alright class, we are going to watch a historical document on the Declaration of Indep-", Mr. Johnson started to say but poofed out of existence. Like literally out of thin air. I was too shocked to even move nor say anything while everyone else was panicking and I heard people from other classes screaming their heads off too.
"Everyone! Please calm down and listen to me!", I heard someone yell over the intercom and the halls were dead silent. "My name is Nicki and we need all of you guys to meet up in the main gym and try to figure out what the fuck just happened. Please don't trample over anybody just... be safe." I sighed and grabbed my belongings while I followed the huge crowd of students to the main gym.
I saw that they were able to pull all of the bleachers out and we were all able to fit in perfectly. There was a bunch of chatter of people trying to figure out what was going on, other people gazing off in distraught, and even some people crying. I can see that because some of the staff that works here are probably related to them somehow. I just hope that whatever this Nicki girl has to say will be fast so I can get to my brothers.
A short thick girl walked slowly to the middle of the gym with a microphone in her hand. I can tell that she was trying to figure out what to say because it was dead silent for a few minutes before she let out a shaky breath. "I need everyone to just breathe and calm down... I know that today just took a random and scary turn, but we can't panic. Panic turns into chaos and we don't need that right now.", she paused and took a deep breath, "I've noticed that people 18 and over are the ones that are... poofing away." A lot of people gasped and some looked like they've shit their pants. "I don't know how and I don't know why, but what I do know is that we've got to stick together and work as a team to figure out how to get them back."
I saw everyone nod their heads at her words. I sighed knowing that this was gonna backfire in less than 24 hours. Another girl stood up and asked a question. "How do we know if it only happened here? I mean, did it happened globally or only in Belleville?"
Nicki shrugged with a thinking look on her face. "We do have to check and see if there are kids and babies that do need someone else to depend on!" Someone else said and she nodded and then someone else blurted out something. "And also pets and the disabled!"
There were now people yelling left and right about what we need to do before it got too loud and too much. She was able to make the screeching sound with the microphone everyone finally got quiet again. "Look, I know that all of those things need to be considered. This is why I thought of putting up a committee after we check and see how far this 'poofing' has gone. I need groups of people to find keys to the buses and got to every daycare, elementary, and middle school you can find. I need other groups to go around as many houses as you can and get any infants and pets or any disabled kids left. If anyone has a license or at least knows how to not crash a car please help out the people that doesn't. We will meet back here, but in the cafeteria, once everything is settled.", she says and everyone went about their ways.
