Selenium is named after the Greek word 'Selene' which means Moon. It is considered to be a non-metal and is necessary for cellular functions in organisms, but is toxic in large amounts. The element was named as 'selenium' due to its similarity of tellurium which is derived from the Greek word for 'Earth'.
Either way, I decided to base this cover off the Caraval book's cover because it fits the theme and I've always wanted to try the style.
