Raven shoved her into the wall and telekinetically held her there.
"Wait!" she sobbed." I can explain!"
"What did you do to my friend?" The words felt strange leaving Raven's mouth, like she was trying to take them back even as she spoke. Did I just call Beast Boy a friend? to another person? Out loud?
"I don't...I didn't..."
"TELL ME NOW!!!" The ceiling lights burst, showering sparks and shards of glass onto the floor. The girl looked up, anger filling her eyes.
"GARFIELD HAS TWO SISTERS!" the girl shouted.
"What-"
"AND I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HIM!" She looked at Beast Boy mournfully. "It's all my fault..." she murmured, then turned, voice firm. "But I wasn't the one who hurt him."
Raven slowly let her down, aware that she was telling the truth. "We got a crime alert," she began, "and it led us to an alleyway. We didn't see anything, But when Beast boy went in, he screamed and ran into the bay. It was weird, like he didn't see the water. Then he fell asleep. In the bay."
The girl muttered something that sounded like "Telepathic b*tch." "Is he okay?" she asked.
"Yes. He's just resting."
The girl-Lillian-sighed in relief and looked over at Beast Boy again. "My fault..."
"Okay, your turn."
She snapped her gaze back to Raven. "What?"
"Explain. Apparently Beast Boy has two sisters, but who is the other one? Why is she trying to kill him, and how is it your fault? And..." Raven looked at her closely, "How old ARE you?"
"Uh..."
"Start at the beginning."
"Well...Our dad was a martian, and our mom was human. They met on Earth and fell in love, and got hitched pretty quick. Anna-Marie is the oldest, and she is telekinetic and telepathic. Garfield is in the middle, and he can shape-shift. I'm the youngest. I don't have any powers.
When I was four, Gar was eight, and Anna-Marie was fourteen, our parents died in a fire. Fire weakens martians...our mom went in to save him..."
Raven nodded. "Go on..."
"Well, I don't know what was wrong with Anna-Marie. She'd always hated Garfield, but we never thought... Well, a few months after the fire, she just up and tried to kill him. I jumped onto her back and held my arms over her eyes- you see, I'd noticed she has to focus on what she's moving- and held on with my knees. 'Run, Garfield, run,' I shouted," she said, eyes wild, like she was re-living the past as she spoke.
She paused. "And then what?"
"He ran.
It's been like that ever since. He ran from city to city, town to town, changing his name from Garfield to Beast Boy to Changeling to Beast Boy again, joining the Doom Patrol, quitting the Doom Patrol, and finally ending up here. The Teen Titans.
Meanwhile I've been following my sister, keeping her off the scent, constantly buying him more time to start a life, make friends, live the best he can until he has to run again. We've had some close calls," she winced." some REALLY close calls, but she's never..." she looked at Beast Boy again. "I wasn't fast enough. I woke up one day and found I had lost her scent. I tried, but..." she broke off and gestured towards him.
Raven nodded.
The girl sighed. "My name is Lillian Joy Logan. I am twelve years old."
Raven gaped. "TWELVE?"
