???'s POV

"Am I gonna have to carry all these boxes myself?" I grunt while lifting yet another cardboard box. I didn't know we owned so much stuff.

"Unless you want to switch with the Machoke and take the really heavy things instead, stop your complaining," My mother stares me down from her comfy air-conditioned seat inside.

I drop the box labelled "kitchen" in one of the empty white rooms of our new home. A place like this would be considered modern and classy in Kalos, the region we came from. It's actually part of the reason my mom was so okay with moving here.

But I did my research and this is no fancy place here.

Here as in the Diciotto region.

My mom walks in, fixing her tight black haired bun. She's very pale like most kalosian people, and is wearing a white designer dress as well. She also has a pink apron on to finish whatever look she's attempting.

"I know you didn't want to move here but give it a chance please Gold," Her navy eyes look into mine, one of the few physical similarities we have. "A smile would be nice."

I give her a big fake smile and she pulls my hat off, throwing it across the room with a laugh. "Back to work."

I sigh and retrieve my hat. I love my gold and black hat, but I will only ever wear it backwards for important reasons. A tuft of my navy blue hair sticks out the front in a nice swoop, perfection. "Actually mom, can I go on a walk? Y'know explore the town and stuff."

She puts her hands on her hips and looks over her shoulder at me, "Really?"

She puts her hands on her hips and looks over her shoulder at me, "Really?"

"I should get to see my brand new home," I say with as much sarcastic enthusiasm as possible.

She shakes her head, "Fine go explore my little boy."

"Your eighteen year old boy," I remind her while grabbing my maroon jacket. I pull it over my black tee shirt and leave it open down the middle. My black sweatpants really make me stand out against all this whiteness.

I step outside and stop for the first time to actually look at the town. Simpton is one of the top places for families. The roads are straight with picture perfect grass lining each side. More white boxes like our home spread out in an ordered way. Every so often there's a park with a few trees and a lot of kids.

This town also likes glass. Almost all the houses have big windows on the front, nothing to hide. Not that there's much in this town worth hiding.

I follow the sidewalk to the town square. I was mostly just wanting to get out of the house but I might as well learn something.

The town hall isn't really something to marvel at either. Just a big white cube with a minimalist design and lots of windows. Even the clock is the bare minimum, black numbers with thin hands ticking slowly.
