Michael Rodwin was the millionth victim of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, to die in the USA. While the rest of the world was slowly recuperating from the pandemic, the USA was still struggling to overcome its devastating effect.
The new political regime was often thought to be the cause, as its most fervent partisans had created clusters of land, whose access was strictly reserved to inhabitants who worshiped the then President, now Dictator. These new boroughs, that could be found all over the country, were islands of peace, now considered independent, where medicine and vaccines were available.
The rest of the population, not considered pure or loyal enough of the new regime, had flew the country until the rest of the world closed their borders to American, fearing a second wave of COVID-19. Those left behind were left on their own. Fighting for food, water, and the right to live.
