A girl wept in the night, a boy listened behind her walls. The girl sang her pain, the boy caressed his scars. The two remained hidden from each other, both hoping, both wishing.
They live in different worlds, quite literally. Only hearing and feeling each other through a rip in time and space, they grew closer each day.
The boy was a young war god, and the girl was nothing but a mere human, broken by society. However, no matter the great divide, they would talk and listen to each other, each becoming the bestfriend the other never had.
But happiness does not last, and space closed itself. The two, torn apart once again by fate, crumbled. The boy died in a war, refusing to live again without his precious human. The girl committed suicide, refusing to follow the cycle of reincarnation to atone for her sins.
As a punishment, the boy was made human, losing his memories as a god. The girl was reincarnated as a human once more, forgetting all the same.
They once passed each other on the train, not knowing.
Such is how the Universe works.
