Cassidy arrived at the cafeteria during the lunch period, a bit later than most, as she had yet another strange encounter. This time, Lash approached her and started a casual conversation about her powers, calling them "cool" and "rad".

The conversation took an even stranger turn when Speed joined in, also complimenting her powers without any obvious reason.

This was the moment when Cassidy's suspicions were confirmed—something was definitely off.

Warren noticed her walking towards their table, her face scrunched up in frustration. He couldn't help but want to chuckle at her adorable expression, but his first instinct was to assume that someone had said or done something to her. "What's wrong? Who was it?" he asked, ready to defend her.

Cassidy sighed and took a seat across from him, patting his hand gently. "Calm down, Flame Boy, no one did anything," she quipped light-heartedly, but then her frown returned. "However, I had the strangest encounter with Gwen and her posse earlier today," she continued, noticing Warren's head snap in a particular direction.

She recognized that look all too well. Oh yes, she was familiar with it, and she knew exactly what was going through his mind at that moment.

As Cassidy slowly turned her head, her gaze landed on a group of individuals she immediately recognized as Freshmen, and the nametags were a clear indication.

Her heart sunk as her eyes landed on the male she had hoped to avoid ever meeting again. There he was, adorned in the colors of red, white, and blue, making him easily noticeable.

The Stronghold voiced loudly to his friends, "Okay, am I crazy, or is that guy really looking at me?" Cassidy and Warren shared a brief glance before Warren's gaze returned to the younger male, his eyes filled with fiery determination.

While it was not entirely fair to hold him accountable for what happened to their parents, the thought lingered in Warren's mind of 'What if' his parents had shared something with him, like a warning to watch out for someone because they had done this or that.

The mutual wariness between the two parties was only natural, given the circumstances.

"Dude...that's Warren Peace," the male in yellow exclaimed, his voice faltering as he caught sight of Warren. Turning his attention to Cassidy, he mumbled, "And that...is Cassidy Crane." His words, though mumbled, were still loud enough for the couple to hear. Warren immediately took hold of Cassidy's clenched fist, his grip firm.

The girls reacted with surprise as they recognized Warren and Cassidy. "That's Warren Peace and Cassidy Crane," one of them gasped, her voice filled with awe. "I've heard about them. Warren's mom is a hero and his dad is a supervillain, Baron Battle."

The Stronghold tilted his head, his curiosity piqued. "And what about the girl?" he inquired.

The male in orange chimed in, "Both of her parents are supervillains, Zula and Cornelius Crane."

The Stronghold furrowed his brow in genuine confusion, asking, "So, um, where do I come into this?"

The male in orange explained, "Your dad busted his dad, and both of your parents busted both of hers. Quadruple life sentence for all of them."

The female in purple added with a grim tone, "No chance of parole until after their third life."

The Stronghold let out a nervous sigh, his words dripping with trepidation. "Fantastic, my first day at Sky High, and I already have arch-enemy... or rather, enemies." A few moments later, he mumbled something under his breath and swiftly turned back to them before swiftly turning away again.

Cassidy let out a weary sigh as Warren turned back to her. "Don't worry, Cass," he reassured her, "They'd better think twice before ever coming near you." He continued with a frown, "And I haven't forgotten. Who was it exactly who approached you out of that entourage?"

Cassidy chuckled softly and leaned on her palm, her tone playful. "And may I ask, what do you intend to do, dear?"

Warren rolled his eyes in mock annoyance and leaned forward with a mischievous smirk on his lips. "Oh, nothing that would land me in any trouble, I assure you."

She retorted with a raised eyebrow and a smirk on her face, "Oh really? So, you getting into three detentions last year is supposed to make me believe that." She continued to hold her smile as she watched her lover pout in defeat, seemingly enjoying his mild annoyance.
