It was 8 PM on a cool, December night.Inside the Nakiri-Yukihira Mansion's living room where a group of women that chatted about whatever it was that came into their minds. In the middle of the group were an assortment of snacks waiting to be munched on and meats waiting to be grilled.
Oh and a lot of alcohol.
Lots and lots of alcohol.
"That all you guys want?" Soma said as he set down the bowl of nachos, taking off his apron shortly after.
"Yep! Thanks a bunch, bro!" Alice happily replied, patting the redhead on the back.
"Call me if you guys need anything else."
As Soma left the living room, he let out a sigh, a sigh that seemed to be a little preparation of the boredom that was to come, at least for him.
You see, that night was the monthly quote-on-quote "Girls' Night" (as Alice liked to call it) that Alice and her female friends had arranged among themselves.
It was pretty cut and dry: alcohol, snacks, chatting, mocking, stories, sometimes a movie marathon, etc.
A pretty fun time if you asked Soma, as he and his male friends also had a monthly get-together. However, unlike the girls who liked to keep it lowkey and stay at one place (being the mansion), the boys liked to drive around town, looking for any restaurant they could eat at.
It was pretty cheap, too. With a roster consisting of the world's most famous chefs, they always got offered a 50% discount wherever they went.
"Damn. Hope we all get to hang out when the holidays roll by." Soma whispered to himself.
His phone suddenly dinged.
"How are things?" Texted his mother-in-law.
"Ok." He replied.
Right.
Mana, being the overly-protective grandmother that she was, always locked herself and Yumi inside one room to avoid her granddaughter seeing her mother and auntie drinking their hearts out.
Soma really didn't think it was that big of a deal. Hell, he had his first taste of beer when he was Yumi's age. How he got to drink was beyond him, but according to his father, his drunk mother picked him up one night and tricked him into downing an entire glass of beer.
"Tell Erina to take it easy. Yumi's asleep by the way." Soma read the next text out loud. He huffed in amusement.
"Yeah right. No matter how much I tell her to, they'll finish at 3 or 4 AM anyway." Despite the sass, he shot the older blonde a reply:
"Ok."
-
"Speaking of insufferable, who was the most insufferable guy you met?" Alice started.
"In high school?" Yuki asked.
"Nah, like, all time."
"I'll start. Eizan." Ikumi said as she slammed her glass on the table.
"How so?" Megumi leaned in as she asked.
"I'll answer that." Yuki butt in before clearing her throat.
"Motherfucker had the nerve to try and take down Polar Star, rigged matches, and worst of all, cries whenever shit doesn't go his way." She then downed a glass.
"Amen. You bet your ass I creamed my pants when Yukihira beat him in a shokugeki that HE RIGGED." Ikumi added, earning firm stare from the aforementioned redhead's wife.
