Day-offs.

Sometimes called rest days, day-offs are scheduled, work-free periods of time in a person's occupation.  These days are set to give workers time to rejuvenate, be it through doing their hobbies, going on short trips, spending time with family, or even just loafing around.  However, these supposedly days for rest are, for some godforsaken reason, usually used to do additional work specifically designed to be done within these scheduled periods, effectively beating the literal purpose of a day-off to begin with.

"Little bi-!" winced a familiar blonde headmistress, almost slamming her head into the table right after.

Erina, after four decades of existence and having spent more than half of that as Totsuki's dean, wished she could've spent a liiiitle more time taking care of herself during her day-offs.

Because as much as she hated to admit it, all those years of handwriting and typing letters finally caught up to her body as she aged.

Even with the prescribed gear, her wrist always found a way to make her living and most importantly, working feel like a bitch.

But now that it's been mentioned, what exactly DID Erina do with her day-offs?

To start, when she was still getting used to being the director, she had created a schedule of her rest days.

At first, when she was juggling the job with her responsibilities as a student, she had two day-offs every week, being Saturday and Sunday.

After she graduated, she eventually changed it to one day, which lasted all the way until she got married.

Nowadays, she more or less worked half of the week at home.  Fridays were spent inside her study, while Saturdays and Sundays were done inside her and husband's room.

Now, back to the question.  What exactly DID Erina Nakiri-Yukihira do on her day-offs?

To put it shortly, work she was unable to finish on her work days or, as mentioned earlier, additional work designed to take up her rest days.  Events, judging of shokugekis, whatever it was she had given the "okay sign" to.  Granted, when put this way, it partly turned to her fault, with her accepting the requests to judge and attend events and all.

But hey, it wasn't like she was going to leave all the event-attending work to Hisako now, was she?

"Erina?" called a familiar voice.

Erina could only groan out as a reply.  She didn't have the energy to talk, not with her wrist feeling like it'd been impaled with a six-inch nail.

Footsteps got closer, and closer, and closer.  After that, she could literally feel her husband's presence kneeling beside her.

She tensed up as something cold pressed up against her aching body part.

"Good thing I decided to go iced coffee today,"  said Soma, chuckling a bit as he did.  He reached up with his left arm and wrapped it around his wife's shoulders.

"Is it acting up again?"

Erina turned her head to meet the redhead's gaze.  She hummed a yes, her eyebrows furrowed as she expressed her irritation with a light frown.

"I guess age is catching up, huh?" the redhead said in a sympathetic tone.

Erina narrowed her eyes as she gave him a venomous glare.

"You know, even at 40, I'm sure I can still gouge your eyes out with a spoon like I've always promised.  Want me to fulfill it right now?"

"Boo, relax.  I may be an idiot, but I ain't dumb enough to make fun of my wife's age,"
