Chapter 5: Lexi's retarded escapade

It was a blazing summer day at the Rochester gay pride festival, Adam and Ryan had Lexi on a leash, as she couldn't be trusted as to not run away. This was Lexi's first public event in years, and she had forgotten how to behave. Lexi barked at dogs and asked people if she could hold their babies. They all quickly started to panic and carried Lexi upstairs to her crib. They set her in all together and walked out and closed the door. They respectively returned to their rooms, not discussing what just happened. After about 2 hours, Lexi woke up. The slap damaged her brain so much that she developed total amnesia. But, she was also normal again. No more retardation, no more brain damage. Alexa had no idea where she was and didn't remember who she was. She didn't know why she was in a crib wearing a helmet. She was smart enough to know to easily climb out. When she was out, she heard people talking in the other rooms. Lexi was nervous. She quietly twisted the doorknob, and pushed her door open. She made her way downstairs, and walked out the front door and started running. The others heard the door and made their way downstairs. They exited the house and stood on the sidewalk, they saw the small girl running for her life. They instantly gave chase to her. Lexi noticed and ran faster. Lexi eventually found her opportunity, and turned off the sidewalk and hid. Nobody else noticed and continued to chase forward, passing her hiding in a garbage bin. Lexi removed the helmet she had on and left it in the garbage bin. She exited and walked for what seemed like miles until she reached a small town. She walked into a restaurant and they asked her for ID. She checked her pockets and found a small pink wallet. She showed them ID and was granted permission into the restaurant. She had a credit card and about $300 in cash. She read her ID and the memories of who she was came running back. She remembered all the abuse, the name-calling, everything. She burst out crying right there at the bar. Suddenly, everything turned white and Lexi was awake in her crib. It was just a dream. None of it actually happened, and the others were around her, worried sick. They actually all really cared for the special kid, and treated her like one of their own. Angelina came in and gave Lexi a kiss on the forehead and apologized for the slap. Angelina asked Alexa if she would like to have some ice cream.
