jeongguk woke up to his alarm blaring hot girl bummer by blackbear, queuing him to wake up. he sat up slowly, consciousnesses hitting him like a ton of bricks. he was painfully hungover from the party he had with himself the night before. regardless of having an endless supply of friends, he wanted to be alone. to him, being crossfaded is more enjoyable when he's alone.

on the way out the door to his house, he downed two advil and a bottle of water and walked to school. he noticed a couple of his friends standing by a tree and jogged over to them, ignoring the violating and intrusive comments and questions radiating from different students. although he couldn't help but wink at a few of them, he has to keep his persona somehow.

"look who decided to finally show up", yoongi muttered.

"shut up i'm not even late, i'm just later than usual", jeongguk scoffed and glared at the boy leaning against the cold brick wall of the school.

"are you okay? you're not typically this late", jimin, the middle child of their friend group asked.

"i'm fine just slightly hungover", jeongguk said, taking a drink of water while the eldest's eyes seemingly jump out of their sockets.

"you got drunk on a school night?!", jin said loud enough for yoongi and jimin to try and shush him at the same time. jeongguk just shook his head and laughed to himself.

"yes, i did, i was bored and needed a distraction from my shit parents", thankfully, before jin could lecture jeongguk to the brink of insanity, the bell rang, forcing them to walk to their respective classrooms.

on their way into the building, people basically cleared the way. getting in the way of the four would mean a trip to the hospital for someone and a lot of paperwork for the school. while they were walking, jeongguk cut jimin off from rambling about mixing cereals.

"wait, guys, who's that", he asked, essentially stopping in his tracks to observe the unfamiliar face. not something he would typically do, but he was distracted by the glowy skin and spotless aesthetic. oversized pastel blue tee shirt layered over a black and white striped long sleeve tucked into black, loose and ripped jeans. black hair, wavy and on the longer side, and messy, but in a good way. chains around the neck and docs to top it off. not that he felt threatened or anything; he's jeon jeongguk.

"must be new", jimin replied, almost drooling at the boy across the foyer from them.

"who cares, let's go. worry about getting in his pants later, jimin", yoongi said, starting to walk away. he stopped, realising he's not being followed, and turned around. he rolled his eyes at them before walking back to his friends.
"i hate all of you", he said, arms crossed.

"no he's right, let's just go, i don't want him thinking he can come talk to us", jeongguk said, scoffing and continuing to walk. once yoongi and jin left it was just jimin and jeongguk.

"well i guess now is where we depart", jimin said in a funny british accent. jeongguk rolled his eyes and smiled at how adorably dumb his friend is.

"dumbass. yes i have to go, but i'll text you", jeongguk says, stopping, leaning on the wall by the door to the class so they could talk. people stayed a good four feet away from them. jimin put a sleeve covered hand up to his mouth.

"so yoongi finally got to you?", jeongguk asked with a raised eyebrow. jimin pulled his hand away, breathing deeply with his eyes closed.

"yes, it appears so. bad habit, but it feels good when you can't get away from this hell", jimin laughed and put his dab pen back in his waistband. jeongguk nodded. he can't say much as he has one too.

"dude, wait, the new kid is in your class", jimin said glancing in at the class with wide eyes.

"well this should be fun", jeongguk smirked. jimin rolled his eyes.

"don't have too much fun", jimin said, laughing and walking away.

"jealous", the other shook his head and let jimin walk away.

jeongguk walked into the classroom expecting all eyes to fall on him as he walked to his seat, but this time they don't. he looked around, eyebrows knitted, trying to find out why people weren't trying to break their backs to talk to him... or hide. his eyes fall on the source of distraction, the new kid. laughing and talking up a storm with seemingly the entire class.

"of course", jeongguk scoffed under his breath.

"shows over sit the fuck down", jeongguk said loud enough to be heard by the 50 students, and everyone rushed to their seats.

taehyung looked at the curly haired brunette while walked over and sat down in the seat next to him, hearing the other students. some gasped, some whispered. he noticed the other's outfit. black ripped jeans, black long sleeve shirt, and black vans, everything monochromatic until you reach the glittery silver chain with a lock on it around his neck, airpods and his multiple earrings, hard to see past some of his hair.

realising that jeongguk wasn't going to talk, he decided to do it himself. he wasn't threatened by his antisocial aura. he perceived it as only a façade.

"i'm taehyung", he looked at the other, who was on his phone under the desk, anticipating an answer. taehyung sighed and dropped it, seeing that he was going to be ignored, and focused on the lecture.

"jeongguk."

"what?", taehyung asked with furrowed eyebrows, looking at the boy who was still on his phone, earning a sigh.

"my name. it's jeongguk", he said, with a daunting expression, making sharp eye contact with taehyung.

"cute", he said back to the black haired boy and continued taking notes, leaving jeongguk a mixture of confused and pissed off.
