Prologue

The heat rushed to my face as it fell against the ground, the pain consuming me like a tidal wave. I yelled out but all I got in return was a round of malicious laughter.

"Come on emo boy surely you can do better than a little girly whine!" Somebody chortled.

"Yeah, why don't you do that thing that's like shouting but singing and makes everybody's ears bleed?" Ashley jabbed at me, making the surrounding crowd errupt again. I decided against trying to get up, nothing good would come out of it anyway. I'd just end up worse than it already was. Nobody was going to come and help me, nobody cared about me. I just have to lie here, in a concrete back alley while a group of braindead idiots laugh at me and kick at me to check I'm still alive. But sometimes I really wish I wasn't.
