Katie's P.O.V

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I awoke to someone shaking me and screaming my ear. "KATIE! KATIE WAKE UP" I rolled over to find it was Miranda.
"What?" I grumbled. She gave me a very unimpressed look. As if to say wow you're dumb. "Well?" I asked. "Breakfast starts in 30 minutes."
I internally groaned. Of course, she gave me that look, I'm a head counselor. I am supposed to wake my cabin up.
"Go. I'll catch up." I say crawling out of bed.
Being head counselor, I can't be late, I mean, technically I can, but it sets a bad example for the younger kids.
I grabbed my clothes and a towel making my way to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed out for breakfast.
When I got to the dining pavilion I was about to sit down when I tripped over something. "WHAT TH-" was all I managed to say before I was rudely interrupted by the cold hard floor.
I hit it so hard I had to lay there a minute trying to process what just happened. What on earth did I trip over...
I lost my train of thought when I heard it. Then I saw it. It was him. The head counselor of the Hermes cabin, trying rather hard, but failing miserably, to contain his laughter.
"Gee Katie-kat, what are you, falling for the floor" he said, giving me a cheeky smile.
"STOLL!" I screamed in frustration. He then offered me a hand but I didn't trust him. The last time I accepted his hand he shocked me, like literally shocked me.
"What do you want?" I asked with an annoyed tone. My gaze was practically burning holes right through his head.
"Oh, come on it was an accident." He said in an overly sarcastic voice. "uh huh." I say clearly not convinced.
Normally I would stay and argue with him but I was too tired today.
As I got up and sat down at the Demeter table, I scolded myself for falling for more of Travis' tricks. Miranda, one of my half sisters, looked at me.
"What took so long?" she asked.
"Travis Stoll." I reply. She nods and continues eating.
"What's his deal?" I ask.
She shrugs "Their Hermes kids. They steal and prank. It's what they do." she says while finishing her food.
"I know but why us? Why is it always the Demeter cabin? Why is it always me in particular? Why does he hate me so much?" These questions roll off my tongue faster than I can think them.
She replies with. "I don't know but he's got to have some reason, right?"
"Maybe." I say. Miranda wiggles eyebrows.
"On the other hand maybe he doesn't hate you maybe he-"
"No" I cut in because I know where this is going.
"I'm just say-"
My glare cuts her off. "Absolutely  not." I say. It was supposed  to come out in a flat tone but it came off in more of an aggressive tone.
"Oh come on! He's not that bad" She says in her most convincing voice. Miranda thinks that me and Travis should date, you know because we're enemy's.
"What do you know?" As soon as these words left my mouth I wished they hadn't.
"Katie I'm literally dating his brother." She says as if it's the most obvious  thing in the world... which it is. But that's not the point.
As I finish my food I think about what she just said. Miranda is dating Conner. Oh my gods... I thought. The horrible reality finally hitting me. She could end up related to that annoying idiot! I internally groan just thinking about it.
Now I know you're probably wondering what the problem is since I'm not the one that could end up related to him. Well Miranda and I are going to be best friends till the day I die. If Miranda ends up married to Conner then Travis will forever be in my life.
