After class, I leaned over Brooke's desk and grinned "Um, thanks for saving my ass from detention."
Brooke put her hand on my face and I almost thought she would kiss me. Then she lightly smacked me and stood up.
She stood so close to me that our noses were touching. For some reason, I heard my heart start pounding faster and faster. I had a horrible urge to lean forward and-No. I NEED to stop thinking like that.
I felt her breath on my face when she said "Cole, if you even want me to want you, you have to prove you're not as bad as everyone says you are."
Yes! She gave me a tip! Wait, I don't care. Okay, maybe I do a little. I said A LITTLE!
I grinned stupidly "And why would you even think that I want you?"
She scowled "Because of the way you look at me, idiot."
My jaw dropped a little bit. I looked at her in a special way?!? Damn, I had it bad.
Brooke walked away, leaving me standing there. I watched her leave. Out of all the girls in the fucking world, I had to fall for her? Okay, I admitted it. I fell for her, which made NO sense since I just met her. I guess that 'You always want what you can't have' saying is true.
I saw Jessica "accidently" bump into Brooke, making her drop her books. Jessica scowled at her and said something I couldn't hear because I was across the room.
Prove you're not as bad as everyone says I told myself as I walked over to them.
Jessica looked at me, and her face lit up. Brooke leaned down to pick up her books but I quickly grabbed them all.
Brooke said after I handed the books to her "Th-Thanks."
Jessica stomped her foot in frustration "No, Cole. You're supposed to ask ME what's wrong! ME!"
I said "Um, what's wrong?"
She flung her arms around me "I miss you."
I forced Jessica away. For someone who looked like a twig, she was pretty strong.
I looked at Brooke "Are you okay."
Brooke stared at me "Uh...Y-Yeah."
Okay, I was obviously not good at being a 'good guy' but hey, for someone who insulted everything, I was doing pretty okay. I mean, she was stuttering. That's a good sign.
Brooke walked away to whatever her next class was while I rushed to gym.

Luckily, the day went by fast. Nathan wanted to start another food fight at lunch (The other resulted in a month's detention last time) but I talked him out of it. Then, during biology, I got in trouble for not paying attention, as always. Just another normal day other than Math and History.
I walked outside, arguing with Nathan.
Nathan scowled "No skateboards are better!"
I smacked my forehead "Motorcycles are a lot faster than skateboards, so motor cycles are cooler."
"But skaters dress awesomely!"
"Bikers get girls."
Nathan grinned "Oh yeah. Now, would you rather be an actor or a rockstar?"
I said as I put on my sunglasses "Actor. They get to kiss lots of hot girls. I'd kill to be in a movie with Jessica Alba."
"Yeah, you're right. But I'd rather be in a movie with Megan Fox."
