New To This (Lamelo Ball/Short Story)

Today is my last day of class until we get back from winter break. That's basically two months for me. I was finishing up some assignments for my anatomy professor. Sophia was also in his office hours. I could tell she was starring but I just minded my business and rushed to get this exam done so I could leave, since Lamelo was waiting for me outside. I finished the exam and walked to his desk to hand it to him.

"Perfect Ms Woods, grade will be posted by the end of the day today. Have a good winter break" he said and smiled
"Thank you Professor Gibson" I said and grabbed my bag
Sophia looked at me confused. I rolled my eyes and walked out the classroom.

It's crazy how we used to be inseparable, now she's just a trouble maker, who loves drugs and alcohol. I walked to the main exit and got into Lamelo's Lamborghini.

"you good" Lamelo asked
I nodded
We drove off to my apartment.

We leave tonight in the middle of the night so I'm getting all my things and staying at the Ball estate. We got to my apartment. I finished some last minute packing. We then headed to his house. Everyone was already there.

"got your school stuff down" Lavar asked me as we walked in
I nodded "yeah I just have some study guides to complete before winter break starts but I started them already" I said
"Okay great" he said

I walked to Lamelo's room and showered and changed into some sweat pants with a white crop too, and my hair was in a bun. I walked back downstairs to where everyone was. They were all fooling around on TIK tok. I laughed and watched them.

"Let's make one" Jaden said
"Which one" I asked
"um this one" she said and showed me it

We spent 30 minutes just figuring out the dance. But we finally did it. It was cute. A little later everyone went about their business. Lamelo and I went upstairs. We laid down on his bed.

"Im so excited" I said
"Me too, first vacation" he said and pecked my lips
I smiled
My phone went off. I had a notification. Lamelo grabbed my phone and looked at it.
"who is it?" I asked
"Bronny" he asked confused "since when do you talk to Bronny"
"oh" I say and grabbed my phone
"babe how do you know him" he asks
"we became friends through insta, and then he introduced me to some of his friends" I say
"what friends" he asks "like who"
"Well in here it's Jaylen, and Jordan" I say
"In where" he asks
"This groupchat" I say
I look at LaMelo. He looks kind of annoyed. I look at what everyone is saying in the groupchat. It's just Bronny, Jaylen, Jordan, and my friend Lauren. We became friends through insta. Bronny tends to comment on a lot of girls posts. So he commented on mine one day, and that's how we became friends, he's young so I see him as a brother, he introduced me to Jaylen and Jordan. They're my age, but still nothing there. Now we all talk almost everyday. This all happened before LaMelo and I made it official, while he was in Australia.

Jordan🙄: who?

Bronny💙: who?

Lauryen💓🥳: LaMelo Ball haha

Bronny💙: since when?

Brianna: hey guys, yeah I can't today, I'm actually going to Hawaii. When I get back definitely.

Jaylen: y'all Forreal date?

"I don't really feel comfortable with all that" LaMelo said looking over my shoulder at my phone
"Why babe, it's not anything serious" I say
"I don't know, just not comfortable with it" he said and got up
I sighed.
"Are you gonna be mad this whole trip" I say
He shrugged "not mad Brianna, just annoyed is all"
He walked out of the room, and headed downstairs.

I sighed. And looked around. What LaMelo's dad said is 110% true. He's very protective and territorial I guess you can say. I would never do anything with Bronny or any of those guys. First of all, I'd catch a case with Bronny. And Jaylen and Jordan are just my friends. I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs, on my way there I hear LaMelo ranting to his brothers about my groupchat.

"I don't even understand how she knows Bronny and Jaylen and all them, like what the hell" he says
Gelo and Zo laugh
"You do realize she's bad right" Zo says
LaMelo shakes his head "I just don't feel comfortable"

He stops talking when he sees me coming down the stairs.

"Done texting your boys" LaMelo says to me
"Don't be a dick" Zo says to him
I shake my head and walk to sit with Jaden and Denise
"What's he mad about" Denise asks me
"about who I'm friends with" I say
"who" she asks
"Bronny and Jaylen and them" I say
She nods understanding

The rest of the day we all just chill, and relax waiting for our time to head to the airport. LaMelo's annoyance faded but I knew he was still bothered by it, because everytime they would text in the groupchat he'd catch an attitude.

We finally arrived at the airport in Hawaii. It was a long flight. I was very tired. LaMelo was still acting weird. I felt bad. We got to where we were staying. It was a very big and nice house. I looked around and finally found mine and Melo's room. It had "Brianna & LaMelo" in pretty cursive writing on it. This is so cute. I started to put my stuff away.

"I'm going to the gym with my brothers and my uncles and stuff" he said and put his luggage on the bed. He kissed my forehead then headed out before I could get a word in. He's upset for no reason.

I put his things away as well. I showered and stuff. I walked downstairs and hung out with the girls while the boys were at the gym. We walked on the beach and everything. Eventually the guys came back.

"BIG BALLER IS BACK" Lavar yelled walking in the house
I turned around and saw the boys walking back inside. LaMelo just went straight upstairs.

"You should tak to him" Denise said
I nodded and walked upstairs. I walked in the room and saw him looking for basketball shorts.

"I put them in here" I say and show him
He nods and grabs one. Then grabs his towel.
"Baby" I say quietly
"mhm" he says
"please don't be upset. I promise you it's nothing" I say and get close to him
"babe it's not even that. i just gotta get used to it I guess" he says
"Used to what baby, talk to me" I say
"Dudes in your phone and stuff" he says
I scoff "so do I LaMelo, it's hard for me too. I know all these girls want you" I say "but I trust you, and you have to trust me"
he sighs "I know mamas"
He grabbed my waist and hugged me. I kissed his lips. He kissed me back.
