It's been a few weeks being "just friends" with Brianna. I mean it's cool, but it's not the same. I miss her intimately, and just being able to call her mine. But it's better than nothing. I definitely have a lot of girls dming me asking if I'm single and trying to shoot their shot, but none of that gets my attention anymore which is weird because I loved that shit. But I'm truly in love with Brianna, and I'm never gonna give up on us. I know she needs time. Yesterday was the draft. Its fucking excited and nervous. I got drafted to the New York knicks. My whole family is coming over today to have a little bar b q pool party type of thing. I asked Brianna if she could come but she said she was busy but she would try. It kind of hurt my feelings because I want her here but I hope she comes through.
"melo boy get your ass up now" my dad yelled I groaned and got up. I grabbed my phone to see if Brianna had texted me back from last night but she didn't. I went on my socials to see what was up. I seen Brianna posted a picture.

I was at breakfast with Jordan and Loren. We were having a shopping day.
"So are you going to homeboys kickback today" Jordan asked I shrugged "Brianna bro" he said and shook his head "what Jordan" I said "I just don't approve of this best friend bullshit y'all got going on. It's like him cheating on you didn't even happen" he said "It did happen and he knows that. That's why we aren't dating" I said "I think she's being smart" Loren said "Thank you" I said She chuckled

I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed to the ball estate. I was kind of nervous, I hadn't seen his family since the whole breakup situation. I parked my car in the driveway and got out the car. I walked inside since the door was open. I walked to the back where everyone was.
"Brianna" lavar yelled "long time girl" I smiled and went to hug him. I hugged Tina and everyone else as well. I walked to Melo and have him a hug. "I thought you were busy" he said I shrugged "not busy enough I guess" He smiled "New York huh" I said "big city living" "You already know" he said "Y'all come eat" Gelo shouted We walked to the table where all the food was "what you been up to Brianna" Lavar asks me "Uh.. just school and more school" I said and chuckled "I like that" he said I smiled "I'm surprised you came today" he said "homeboy over here fucked up" LaMelo looked at him and then looked down "we worked it out, we're friends" I said He nodded We made more conversation and ate. I sat next to Melo. He finished the rest of my food plus his. "I have something for you" Melo says and grabs my arm I follow him up to his room. He closes the door and walks into his closet to take something out. He handed me a pink box.
"What is this Melo" I asked "Open it" he says and lays down on his bed I open the box, inside was a very very expensive looking ring.

"it's really nice LaMelo" I said "expensive too huh" "It doesn't matter because it's for you" he said "it's a promise from me to you, that I'm always gonna love you, and the next time you give me a chance it's gonna be for real I won't fuck it up I promise. And then one day when the time is right I'm gonna replace it with a big ass motherfucking engagement ring" he says and smiles I smile. A tear falls from my eye "ugh you didn't have to do this" "I wanted to" he says I smiled, and went to hug him. "I love you" I say "I love you too" he says and kissed my forehead
