Today's date 7/12/14
Today I went to see the plastic surgeons on ward 11 at 9.10am it was an emergency clinic anyhow why I was there I was there for my pinky finger on my right hand I had trapped it in my bed guard in the early hours of Saturday morning I thought my finger was going to be alright but that was wrong I woke up on Saturday morning and I couldn't move my finger at all and it was swollen and bruised.So I went off to a&e on the Saturday afternoon they took X-rays and seen if I could move it I couldn't move it at all the X-ray was clear of breaks so that meant it was my tendon what had been damaged a&e couldn't do anything for that so they put me in the emergency plastic clinic I'm already well known to the plastic surgeons due to my eds my hands have been affected badly I've had thumb surgery on both my thumbs volar plate repair.Anyhow today I went to ward 11 to see the plastic surgeons I seen two doctors one was an scho and the other a registrar to my surprise I hadn't actually ever seen these doctors I've seen many of the plastic surgeons so they took a look at my finger and bent it different ways the couldn't quite tell what was wrong with my finger there was to much swelling to tell if there's tendon damage so they've strapped my finger up until Tuesday because that's when I see mr Coutinho my plastic surgeon I was already seeing him for my left hand I have been having bad hand spasms and my finger has been swan necking a lot and my cmc joint in my thumb started dislocating so my hands aren't good to start with hopefully we can find out what's going on on Tuesday with my pinky probably another hand surgery.When I got home from the hospital I ate lunch and went to bed I slept almost all day I got up at 6pm had a wash down and ate tea then watched tv and that brings me up to now I'm lying in bed typing this my finger is tingling and super painful so that's what my day consisted of.
Today's date 8/12/14
Today is Monday I went to the feeding clinic at the great north children's hospital it was in the children's development centre I had never been there before I'm always used to being at the children's outpatients department I don't really like change it was very different to the department I'm used to Because it was much more smaller and just different and it didn't help that the doctors were running late I got called through finally there was a doctor and a speech and langue therapist first off they asked me about my swallowing problems and what type of food I ate and what I drank I answered them the best I could bearing in mind I was already knocked funny so they spoke to my mam more about me Because I was struggling what to say.Then they asked who are my other doctors well there's a lot but I remember them all I have one favourite doctor and that's my plastic surgeon mr Coutinho I tell most of the doctors how good he is he's the only doctor who gave me surgery and that's such a big thing with eds no one will operate on me so I was so happy when a doctor actually operated anyhow back to the feeding clinic the doctor took a look at me and made me move my arms and stuff about what I'm very used to by now they don't know what's happening with my swollen yet Because I need a scan I have that next Tuesday they wanted done before Christmas thankfully there was a cancelation next week they also took a lot of blood today I really don't like blood tests but this one was so different much better then the local hospital taking my blood I got to watch 3D tv as the blood was taking I didn't even realise they were taking blood.After that I came home and sat down on my iPod for a little while and then had lunch I was feeling very tired today also my finger is quite sore still so I went off upstairs for a nap I went to sleep at about 2.30pm and woke at about 5.30pm just in time for the 6 o'clock news I wanted to watch the news this evening Because the rvi hospital was on it tonight I seen one of the doctors who was on the news after the news I ate my tea I had pizza after that I went upstairs and listened to my music after listening to music I watched the royal variety show it was pretty good this year after that I watched another program and that brings me up to now I'm going to sleep soon Because I've got physio and my plastics apt.
Today's date 9/12/14
Today I went to see my plastic surgeon I also had shoulder pt first off I got up at about 11.30am I got dressed and went on my iPad for some time then it was time to leave of shoulder physio my appointment was at 1 o'clock anyhow shoulder physio taped up my shoulder once again the tape helps it some what but my shoulder never seems to want to be in it's correct place never mind.Then I left shoulder pt to head over to the great north children's hospital for my plastics appointment we arrived very early so we sat and waited in the black seats until about 2.15 then we headed down to the plastic surgery department my all time favourite department I sat down in children's waiting area I didn't wait long at all to see my consultant I went in to the room and sat on the bed my consultant then asks how things have been since I last saw him I explain what had been going on and what I'd done to my finger he firstly took a look at my thumb on my left hand he thinks it's quite stable and it feels like it should so that's made me happy 😊 he then moves over to my right hand this hand has the bad finger before he took a look at it he looked at my X-ray he confirmed know breaks witch I new there was no breaks anyways so I took my splint off the finger then he asked me to bend it down in to a fist and straighten at first this was hard and painful but with help off him I managed to move my finger that was a good sign he goes on to tell me I have to wear a buddy finger splint basically it's a splint what holds both of my fingers together with gauze down the middle and around the fingers I have to wear this for 2-3 weeks he wants to see me back in 6weeks time that's after Christmas to see how I'm getting on and to make sure there's no long lasting damage to my pinky finger. After the hospital we went in to the town for a McDonald's and went to a couple of shops it was freezing cold after the shops we got a taxi home once we were home we told my dad what the doctor had said after that I went up stairs and waited for our Chinese to come once our Chinese came I went down stairs and ate it after tea I sat down stairs for a little while then headed up stairs for 9pm Because there was a children's hospital program on and there was a girl with ehlers danlos syndrome on it it rare you see that after that I done some medical science work.I then got settled for bed at that's my day over
