It's the start of a new school term. The start of her university life.
April walked out of the registration room and looked afar. Pitter-patter, pitter-patter. Raindrops keep falling down from the sky non-stop. Standing along the corridor on the third floor of the building, April gazed down at the huge open-space in between the buildings. Many couples shared an umbrella as the strong wind howled. She noticed a pretty lady walking alone without an umbrella.
Let's see which handsome man will pop up from nowhere and chase after her, she wandered. Sure enough, a handsome-looking young man ran up towards that lady.
April rolled her eyes. Typical cliches, she thought.
Of course, this is so typical to her. Every day, her surrounding is full of these cliches. And the best part? They never, never ever, happened on her before.
Why? Yeah, she wanted to know why too.
"APRIL!" She turned when she heard someone called her name out loud. Even the occasional loud thunders and the loud falling of the rain did not stop her from recognizing that voice.
A youth-looking young man jogged towards her. A cheeky smile plastered on his face as his hair flew wildly due to the strong wind. Any lady looking at him right now would suddenly have dreamy-looking eyes. They would suddenly dream of having him. They would suddenly have plans to make him their boyfriend, then their husband, then their child's dad. Their world would start turning pink and bubbles would appear.
But the thing is, April is not any lady. She looked at him with very dull eyes. She quietly watches his build figure and pretty face as he approaches.
Only after he had run right past her, she snorted. That young man did not even take a second to look at her. He zoomed right past her as though she doesn't exist. April turned around, curious to see who he was actually running towards. Sure enough, it was a cute girl. Just like those typical romance drama.
Quietly laughing at herself for being so nosy, she turned back. She is well aware that no such pretty man will call out her name and run towards her like those typical romance dramas.
