Break - ups hurt the most, they say. But what's worse is being friends after break up. Anika and Suraj were sure on talking terms with each other but Anika still had feelings for Suraj. She still liked him a lot. But she could never express them. Now as I am talking about Anika's feelings towards Suraj, the doubt about Anika developing feelings for her female best friend may be a little confusing for now. But Anika actually never knew that the feelings she harbored for Suraj was never physical. It was a connection of just affection and care. It was her love towards him...in a friendly way. The connection they had with each other was withering away slowly and that hit her hard. Very hard. She had considered him hers.

It surely was very difficult for her to get over him

It surely was very difficult for her to get over him. But then it was like he himself was giving reasons and ways to make it easier for her to get over him. Today, thinking back I feel he did that on purpose. Maybe he knew that if he would break her completely, she would leave his life and lead it in a better way. And that's exactly what happened within 2 months of her joining her new college. Maybe if not for Suraj, she would have enjoyed her time more with Ashitha. She surely regrets the amount of time she wasted on Suraj.

And then gradually Ashitha helped Anika get over Suraj a lot. Ashitha was the girl who changed Anika's life completely. Anika learned to live, laugh and love her life all the more. And that was mainly because of Ashitha. Anika's life had changed. She enjoyed more and her faith in friendship was gradually restored (exclusively for Ashitha and ) because of Ashitha.

Anika had also faced lot of problems at her home. There were differences between her mother and her father. There were some issues which Anika thought she wouldn't be able to discuss with anyone in her life. But that changed and as her faith in Ashitha grew a thousand folds. she confided everything in Ashitha. She soon told Ashitha all the problems she had been facing since her childhood and that was one more reason for their bond to grow stronger.

For the first time Anika had found someone whom she could trust with her life. She had finally been happy and secure in a friendship. This was never the case in school and college and so she began loving her college life. Anika had always hated her school and her college. She dreaded being among people who were fake. She dreaded going to a place where she knew she would never be happy. Her "so - called - friends" never really loved her, and were rather jealous of her. Anika was an all - rounder in her school. She was the best in sports, in singing and all other extra - curricular activities. Although being an average in studies, Anika used to win the Sports Championship trophy, the Extra - curricular trophy and also the best outgoing student in Class X. And these were the many reasons which made people not like her and in turn be jealous of her. She was in the school cabinet too. All this was in her name, but at the cost of her sadness and her displeasure. In her Pre - University life she was never much into extra - curricular because she was desperate for friendship and was under the notion that if she would be good in everything, people would not like her again. And that I can say, was a very wrong decision. In-spite of being secluded she never had good friends and was not happy too. She never got the feeling of pure happiness which she longed for.
