Under the shade of darkness, you sprint through the forest. You can hear the mob gaining on you, the light of torches not too far behind. You dash through a bush of thorns, causing small cuts on your ankles and lower legs to bleed. Hope fills your heart as you see a large metal fence. Without resting, you leap up and climb the gate. The hem of your dress gets caught on an iron spike, so you pull it and rip yourself free. When you land on the other side, you see the steps of a large castle not too far away. You collapse on the stone stairs, catching your breath and letting sweat fall from your face in beads.
The large group chasing you stops at the gate, convenes with one another and turns around, giving up on chasing you.
You sit up and laugh as loud as you can. "Haaah... BASTARDS!! Haah... TRY AND GET ME NOW!! YOU... haaaah... YOU BETTER RUN!!"
You lean back, your tunnel vision fading. You notice two white figures on either side of you. Two skeletons in burial shrouds, propped up on wooden stakes, guard the castle entrance. You swallow a lump in your throat. You pull your jacket across your chest as a chill passes through your core. You feel something sharp and hot prick the back of your neck, but you dare not move.
"Who the hell are you?" A voice from behind you speaks out. "How did you get here?"
You slowly raise your hands. "My name is {Y/N} Sieghilde, first and only daughter of Ulfric and Magnolia Sieghilde of Saufort. I was chased out of my home by the townspeople of Veros. My family's mansion was burned to the ground. I have nowhere to go. I understand if you don't want me here, just tell me to leave and I will."
The thing poking your neck is pulled away. You turn around slowly. A tall, blond man with a pale, gaunt face looks down at you from the top of the steps. In his hand, he holds a sword with silver gleam.
"Are you hungry?" He asks.
"Very much so," you admit.
The man extends a hand to you. "Come, I just made dinner."
Hesitantly, you place your mud-covered hand in his. He pulls you up and helps you through the castle doors. The man sits you down at a quaint wooden table in the kitchen. He puts on a pair of oven mitts and walks towards the range.
"Do you like fish? I made some cilantro-lime baked salmon," he says, leaning forward and opening the oven, "it's a new recipe for me, so I hope it turned out well."
You smile a little. "Thank you. You're very kind. What's your name?"
The man pauses while he's transferring the salmon to a plate. "My name? Adrian Tepes. You may call me Alucard."
You sit up. "Oh! I've heard about you. It's nice to meet you, Alucard."
Alucard places the plate of salmon in front of you. "Enjoy."
"Aren't you going to eat too?" You pick up a fork and knife.
He sits at the chair across from you. "I wasn't expecting company, so I'll let you have what I made for myself."
You lower your utensils. "Are you sure?"
"Go ahead, dear. I insist." Alucard smiles kindly.
You quickly thank him and begin to devour the fish with a polite ferocity. Every bite melts in your mouth. Once the plate is cleared, you lean back in your chair.
"Oh my God..." you sigh, "that was better than sex."
Alucard chuckles to himself. "That sounds like something an old friend of mine would say."
You blush, noticing his pearly white fangs. You rub your tongue against the front of your teeth to make sure nothing is stuck in them.
Alucard stands up and takes your dishes from you. He pauses when he gets a better look at you. His smile fades. "You're... a vampire."
