Has it been 2 months? It was a beautiful summer day. On this seemingly carefree Sunday afternoon, the sun shone, the birds were serenading, and the world was at tranquility. The church service had just concluded, and the children dashed out the door, eager to play. The threatening crowd turned sharply from the street onto an old dusty road. The trees swayed in the evening breeze and swayed, even more, even more, when the children rushed by. The light that poured over the path was faintly clouded by dust.
Kung ganito lang palagi.
"Nakahanda na ba yung requirements mo?" my trance was put to stop ng mag salita si mama. She's been supporting for the past 2 months. Hinahangaan ko si mama at gusto ko rin talaga mag take ng Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Major in Marketing Management. It's always been flexible and for me to strengthen my background I plan to take up civil exams and professional business exams. Nasasabi ko na I did grow, I plan ahead. Noon hindi ko naisip mag plano kung anong gagawin ko sa susunod kung hindi pa ako nasa position na yun.
"Henlien?"
"Ay opo ma, nahanda ko na po nung nakaraan lang. Tsaka ako nalang po mag-isang pumunta doon ma kaya ko naman po. I'm old enough-"
"I know gusto lang kita samahan. I just want to be there for you. Hindi ka ba kinakabahan? You'll be entering a new environment. Iba na yung college nung senior high school ka. I'll just support your decision. Just don't hesitate na pumunta sa akin if may problema ka. I'm still your mom Henlien"
"Thanks ma" aaminin ko. Kinakabahan talaga ako. Sino ba ang hindi? Ibang iba na ito sa nakasanayan ko pero ayaw ko ipakita na kinakabahan ako. Sometimes it works better if you just let it be.
Mas malapit na yung university dito sa bahay namin pero maaga parin ako gumigising para kay mama. 25 minutes yung travel time galing sa bahay papunta sa university.
Hindi pa nga ako nakapag simula eh start yung playlist ko ay nakita ko na yung building nung university. Malapit na pala kami. Hindi rin kasi traffic kaya madali lang yung byahe.
"Take care, hindi na kita ihahatid sa loob. Malalate na ako sa work ko. I love you"
"Love you too ma, ingat ka papauntang trabaho" binaba niya lang ako sa harap ng gate. Malayo layo pa yung lalakarin ko papunta sa main building. Wala bang drop off dito? I guess wala?
