SKYE'S POV: I walked downstairs and all of a sudden my mom, dad, and little sister yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" and then my best friend Madison walked out of the family room into the kitchen with a birthday cake and candles. Today was Friday, and it was also my 18th birthday. I have been waiting for this day for so long, but today wasn't a very good day to be my birthday; after school, we were supposed to take a family vacation to my grandparents' house in Georgia for a week, and we live in LA... Meaning myentire birthday would consist of school and flying on an airplane. Fun. This is probably the most fun my birthday will be today, so I might as well enjoy it. "Thanks guys, nothing like cake for breakfast" I laughed. "Hey, well you onlyturn 18 once!" my dad replied. There was an awkward tension around the room, I guess everyone could tell I was thrilled about my day. "Here, take a seat hun," my mom finally added, patting the chair sitting across the table. Allfour of us sat down at the table while my sister Aly left for school. "We need to make this quick, because I don't want to be late for school today," I added. Madison, sitting next to me, grabbed my leg and squeezed it. What the hell is going on?
