Part 3: Video

"He's so cute!" Jess tells Rachel. Rachel has been showing the group pictures of her new boyfriend who's all cool because he's in college. I smile and congratulate her but all it does is remind me of Jake.

It's the second week in to school and after me a Don presented our project, she's stopped talking to me all together. I know she was just a little game to keep myself entertained but for some reason I miss having her around. It's like a presence is missing.

I still see Don around, like when she sits alone at lunch or when she rushes through the halls. I keep wanting to text her but if people find out I actually liked hanging out with- correction working with her, then they will think I'm weird and the girls might not hang out with me anymore.

"Earth to Sam." Charli draws me out of my thoughts.
"What?" I say as I redirect my attention towards them. Charli points towards the field and I turn to see Jake with Don. He is clearly hitting on her and she clearly isn't having it.
"You should go and tell Jake off." Jess says.
"Why? He can flirt with who he wants." I say.
"Because Don thinks you're friends with her. It will be funny." Charli smirks.
"Ugh whatever." I say while walking to the field.

"Hey dick-wad, can't you see she's not interested?" I say once I'm close enough crossing my arms. Don looks at me confused. Jake turns to me with fire in his eyes.
"Get lost Sam." He seethes through his teeth. I smile seeing that I'm getting to him.
"Jake, I already told you I'm gay and I don't want to fuck you. Please leave." Don says focusing her anger back towards Jake.
"I can turn you straight." He turns back to her. Don is gay? Whatever I'm not having this. I walk up to Jake and slap him, hard.
"Ow! You motherfu-" he starts.
"You can't change someone's sexuality Jake. Leave her alone and go fuck your cousin." I say. People who were watching and recording us start laughing. Jake turns to me but Don kicks him in the crotch. The crowd is filled with a mix of pity ouches and cheering. But Don doesn't look happy.
"Hey, you need to go to the bathroom?" I ask. She looks at me and nods a little.

Once we get into the school Don grabs my hand and squeezes her eyes shut as if she was having a bad dream. I lead her to the bathroom and she leans over the sink taking deep breaths.
"How are you feeling."
"It's on video..." she whispers.
"What's on video? The whole Jake Thing? Don't worry stuff like that happens with him." I try to calm her down.
"No that's not..." she tries to explain. I have no idea what goes through this girl's head but I feel really bad.

Don stands up after a few more breaths and looks in the mirror. I don't know what came over me but I wrap my arms around her and give her a hug. She freezes and her breath hitches.
"I'm sorry that you had to deal with that." I tell her. Don wraps her arms around me tight and breaths rigid breaths into my shoulder, like she was trying not to cry. I let her get herself together and just stay like that for awhile before she let go of me. She had what could have been mistaken as a blank expression if you didn't know her.
"Thanks..." she said.
"Just call me if he bothers you or if somethings wrong. Okay?" I say while I smile at her. Don nods and leaves the bathroom. Of course when I follow her out she's already gone like always.

I walk towards the cafeteria when Charli runs up to me.
"Have you seen it?!?" She says loudly.
"Seen what?" I ask. Charli practically shoves her phone into my face. I take her phone and read the caption of a video.
This girl just glitched
The video had Don kicking Jake in the crotch, but something's wrong. It's like she teleported from behind me to in front of me. The video slows down so it's easier to see the time skip. "Pfft that's crappy editing." I say as I keep walking to the lunch room.
"That's what I thought until I saw these." Charli says shoving her phone in my face again. She shows me videos showing the same thing except from different angles.
This bitch teleported...
