Chapter 4: Another Day In Hell

My alarm beeps annoyingly, gaining a groan from my exhausted body. Tryouts last night filled my body with a constant ache. I throw my comforter over and hop out of bed. The floorboards creak as I pad my way to my full length mirror.

My hair is in knots and my eyes provide deep bags from my exhaustion. With a sigh I brush my hair with maximum effort. Throwing on a black lace shirt and black ripped jeans with black vans I throw my homework I should have done in my bag and plop back down on my bed. With folded hands over my eyes and a deep sigh I mentally prepare myself for 6 and a half hours of my own personal hell.

I cannot let Tom hurt me again. He will keep pushing and pushing to get what he wants. Daddy did not raise me to be like this.

On that note I get up, grab my football pads, bag, and walk out the door. Henry left a note on the fridge saying he's traveling back home because his wife is due soon. I completely understand why, I just wish he would have said goodbye first. I grab a banana, that will surely carry me over to lunch. I'm not one that eats breakfast often.

As I prepare for the grand walk to school, I then realise the black BMW from anywhere. What was he doing here? Luke looks up and opens the passenger door for me. I gladly take the gesture and put my bags down on the floor. Luke hops in the car and starts it up.

"I didn't know when you typically leave for school so I've been parked at your house all morning." Says Luke. "Thank you" I reply in a better mood. A few moments pass in silence. Why is he here? "I'm sorry about last night-I had no idea about-I would have never-" Luke replied in spurts. I reply quickly, "I shouldn't have reacted that way, I'm sorry, you were only being curious" More silence surpasses us. "Don't let Tom get to you, he's only jealous that you're now captain, something that he probably has wanted for a long time.

I look into his beautiful emerald eyes, now only realising the effect it had on me. My stomach had butterflies at the way they shined in the sunlight. "You know, staring is rude. But if you want me so bad, all you have to do is ask," Luke says. I snap out of my trance. "You know, you're right, It's so hard not to stare at your disgusting face." I give him a mocking smirk.

What's with this guy being so fucking bipolar? My gosh. "You ready for another day of death?" I ask sarcastically. Luke smirks, "Oh the joys of the heavy pads on me with the sun blazing. Oh and how could I forget the sprints and the sweat." I half smile.

With the silence I reminisce the memories of last night, only remembering to give him his jacket back. "Oh, I, uh have your jacket for you." I pull it out of my bag. Luke takes it and throws it in the back.

Okay then. "Hey, I never got to ask. What position do you play Luke? I say. Luke snickers and says, "I'm your center." "So you're the guy that's going to keep me off my ass during the game" I say. Luke smiles a genuine smile, "I don't know about that. I might just let a few of them sack you" he says. I laugh quietly.

We pull up to the school with about 10 minutes till the bell rings. We both get out. I grab my bags and football pads, catching up with Luke in the process. "Uh, thanks for the ride," I say. Luke replys while walking away from me, "Yeah, whatever."

With that I head to my locker and grab books for Chemistry. With books in hand I go to the vending machine and buy a tea. It dispenses my tea and as I go to grab it, an all too familiar figure grabs it and takes a swig out of it.

I go to grab it from Luke's hand but he holds it up over my head. "Thank you, you shouldn't have," Luke says. "You're an asshole", I laugh and shake my head at the ridiculousness. I walk into Chemistry and take my usual seat in the back.
