In this short story the plot revolves in kodaikanal and moorthy family runs a big departmental stores whereas murugan family has been supplying goods for the paandiyan departmental stores, moorthy family consist of his wife dhanam, his daughter arthi and his only brother kathir. kathir is a welleducated man who helps his brother in the business.
mullai is the single daughter of murugan and parvati. she have completed her degree recently, not yet decided about working.

Its a rainy morning in the kodaikanal the atmosphere is very cold mullai gets up in the morning and enjoys the cold weather which she always loves about her town from her childhood. mullai's house is a big individual house, she roams around the house and later checks the raasibalan of the day it was given

murugan's office : kathir and moorthy were talking to murugan regarding some business matters at that time phone rings he answers the call gets frusturated and pushes the things on the table to the ground moorthy and kathir are in great schock.
mullai's photo was in the table when murugan pushed things it also fall down and the glass got broken kathir immediately rushed and took the photo the broken piece scratched in his finger and it slightly started bleeding .
