Every waking moment that Rory and I spent together, I sensed nothing but extreme danger.

Rory claimed he was immortal now, but somehow I knew that even he still had to have weaknesses.

Both of us being pursued, stalked and hunted. As scared as I was to remain by his side, I feared being separated from him even more.

The blood-crazed hunter studied every minor piece within my fragile body with an ultimate hunger in his fierce, dark gray eyes. My death was near; I felt it. I was entirely defenseless in all of this.

I closed my eyes tighter in defeat, feeling my pulse increasing drastically. Desperately hoping that if my life was coming to an end, the predator would spare mercy, making it a quick and painless death.
