Jimin peeks around the corner, making sure his mask stays secured on his face as he glances around. It looks like the coast is clear. No androids wandering about, and he already knows that the cameras are disabled, so there's no worry for that at all. So, he steps out into the open, letting out a sigh of relief before walking along the rubble ridden path.
The street used to be so lively back when there were no androids. Back when people used to walk around with friends, or when children used to play in each others yards and have a wonderful time while their parents spoke to each other fondly. Where occasionally an ice cream truck would roll through and teens would walk up and buy a cone of vanilla for their partner and have to eat it before the sun beating down would melt it at their fingertips.
Jimin remembers when he was walking down this street with a small smile on his face, walking along to the beat of the music that plays in his earbuds. He remembers walking home and stepping into the living room, where his parents sit and watch the newest and hottest commercial that everyone was watching.
Jimin remembers when the first batch of androids were released and how almost every family he knew had one. And then he remembers the next model. And the next, and the next, and the next-
And then he remembered when the androids had began attacking.
Jimin would rather have these memories in his mind, though. Keep the way that this happened in his head so he wont forget. He loves the memories of the way that the human population used to be without threat. One thing he wishes he could forget though were the death of his parents.
Jimin was walking home, yet something felt strange. The street was quiet, no children were playing on the sidewalks, and Jimin felt the horrible feeling of being watched. Despite this, he just hoped that this was all part of some sort of joke he wasnt in on. But seeing peoples windows shattered, splatters and sprays of blood on the walls of homes, and once pretty gardens ripped up to shreds, suddenly his heart was racing faster. Jimin started to run home by that point.
When he does eventually get to he and his parents home, his dread is only increased when the door to his humble abode looks to be kicked open, and he can hear faint talking inside. He swallows hard, and for a second, he tries hard to think of what the possibilities could be. That maybe everyone was fine and his parents would be inside, watching the latest commercial of whatever new android that BigHit was releasing. Instead, what he sees is far worse.
His mother, being held against the floor by the foot of an android as she cries wildly, a gun pointed to the back of her head with deadly intent. And Jimin's father, being held back against the wall because he's trying so desperately to get to his wife by two androids , who look at each other and nod before pulling out their guns.
Everyone hears Jimin open the splintered door by the horrendous creaking noise that the door emits. He freezes, and both of his parents look at him, fear in their eyes as they stare at their now only son enter the room with wide eyes and his mouth ajar. The silence is short lived, and the androids looks at each other with a clear answer in their eyes of what to do with Jimin. But before any of them could make a move on any of the three humans in the room, Jimin's mother is first.
"Run." Her voice is barely above a whisper, which feels like the opposite of how it should sound at that very moment. So hushed and reserved. Had this not been a real situation and some sort of staged incident, Jimin wouldve made some sort of joke of how his mother always seems to be so polite and quite, even in such dire situations. But he doesnt get to. He doesnt even have the chance to think about it before theres a gunshot, and the androids are beginning to walk towards him.
He can hear his father screaming in the background. Can hear him trying to escape the androids tight grasps and run to his now unmoving wife before theres another gunshot, and Jimin can hear no more screams. Jimin is frozen in place, unable to move, unsure of whether or not what he just saw was real. But then, when he sees the blood on one of the androids face and the emotionless look in their eyes, Jimin realizes that this is real. That his life truly will change forever.
