Finding the perfect home in such a big place was something they had difficulty doing. They wanted to be a part of a community in a positive way, to atone for their past in some small measure, but also not draw attention to themselves. They settled in a small town to the west outside of Juniper Sierra Peak in Central California. Finding a nice sized house, that they could raise their child in on the outskirts of the town, but still close enough to be a part of the community. They were thrilled to have found a beautiful three bedroom brick single-story home on the side of the mountain, with a nice large back porch that overlooked the ocean that had all the amenities that one could ask for in a family home.
After finding a good home and settling in, they forged a guise under which, Enji Kadzuki, a late twenties slender built, five foot ten inch tall man with steel blue eyes and raven black faded hair. Who in the Yakuza group, was known for being extremely intelligent, and trained as an underground black market practitioner and was one of the Yakuza's best surgeons, was able to find a physician job at a local doctors office. Fumiko Kadzuki, a mid twenties athletic built, five foot six inches tall woman with scarlet red eyes and medium length maroon red with violet highlighted hair, found a position as an accountant in a local firm next to her husband's office.
After months of peace, living in their secluded mountain home, on Wednesday July 23, 1997 their lives would forever change when their son was born. A healthy boy, Kaito, had no problems coming into this world. Both Enji and Fumiko were so proud to see their violet eyed, red haired son, born healthy and free from any threats that would have arisen in Japan. Though they both were secretly scared of what his future might hold.
Kaito was a seeming prodigy. Able to master skills at an exceptionally fast rate for his age. By six months Kaito was walking on his own and able to identify words and pictures on cards. By ten months he was able to say some simple words in broken sentences. His parents, while amazed by their son's advancement, were worried that it could bring unwarranted attention to them. For a threat always loomed in the back of their mind.
At the age of three Kaito continued to ascertain exceptionally fast and this started to catch the eyes of some of the people in their town. While in on business or while getting supplies people would ask them about how he was able to develop so quickly. Enji and Fumiko tried their best to be friendly but still keep to themselves for fear of gathering too much attention to them and their son. Though Kaito was perfectly capable of doing that on his own. Being able to speak in complete sentences to those who asked questions at such a young age was something that often shocked those around him.
One day they were walking on a trail on a warm summer day, they came across a beautiful view of the ocean and took a moment to admire the beauty. Nearby was another family with their own child, a boy of five in age. Kaito was wandering around with the boy while their parents were chatting about their two sons. The boys were told not to get too close to the cliff though the older boy didn't listen. In a sudden and loud crack, the ground beneath the boy gave way and started to crumble down the hill. Before anyone could react though, Kaito had already grabbed the boy by the arm and pulled him back onto more solid ground. The boy started crying while Kaito looked at him trying to console him by patting his head, though this did little to actually help. His parents rushed over to him and started making sure he was alright and consoling him. Enji and Fumiko ran over to Kaito just as quickly too, and picked him up. Checking to make sure he was okay, with no injuries found. They looked at their son in the face and he had the biggest smile on his face, they were very proud that their son had just saved a life.
Later that evening the family of the boy whose life was saved by Kaito had told everyone in their town. Because of this the local news got wind and had begun to request an interview with the Kadzuki family. Not wanting to draw extraneous attention to themselves, they refused multiple times, firmly yet politely. This however, did not stop the news outlet from running the story about Kaito and the boy, just without the interview. This was very worrisome Enji and Fumiko as they had no idea how far the story would spread, and who could be watching it. They also did not know what would come of this story but they both knew it likely wouldn't be good.
