"As you know, you the Bakugou's have been listed as (Y/N)'s official parental guardians. However, regarding the incident three years ago, you have the option for me to completely remove her from your care and find her new parents," Peterson explained, pulling your files out of his briefcase along with the papers in order to release you from the Bakugou's care. "The choice is yours." This was all background noise to you; your eyes just trailed along the room; memories flooding into your mind.
'KATSUKI!' the ash blonde woman who was holding your small hand yelled. Soon after, a boy about your age emerged from what you suspected was the lounge, holding a small red, blue and yellow figurine. Too shy to say anything, you hid behind your new mum's leg and clutched onto her winter coat.
'Come and say hi (y/n)...or um dire 'bonjour', mais essayez d'en japonais, d'accord,' she said in a soft voice; you hugged her leg, not letting go, you weren't used to having a real family or a family at all, hell you could barely speak Japanese.
'Do...do you want to look at my toys.' You slowly walked out from behind Mitsuki's frame to see the small boy from which that voice had come from holding out his toy for you to take. You nodded and took the colourful figure into your hands; smiling you thanked him, but you didn't know exactly who it was.
'Who is this?' you asked. His eyes widened as he snatched the toy back 'HE'S ONLY THE GREATEST HERO IN THE WORLD EVER!'
'Hero?' you responded, the fiery-eyed boy gasped and took your hand in his, 'YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.' He pulled you upstairs to his room. He was just about to open his door when he remembered.
'Oh, my name is Katsuki,' he told grinning widely.
'Kat-uki' you stuttered struggling to say the foreign word.
'That's close enough,' he laughed 'Now come on new sis I need to show you my limited-edition collector's items.'
'Ok b-big bro.'
You didn't notice the small smile forming on your lips until Peterson nudged you back into reality.
"Oh, I'm sorry, what was the question?" You stammered, shivering at the sudden touch. His condescending smirk made you grind your teeth together, trying not to stab him in the gut (emphasis on the 'trying') you look up to see who made the enquiry. Mitsuki smiled at your inattentiveness; clearing her throat as she repeats her question.
"So kid, what's your take on this? Would you like to stay with us just like old times?"
You thought about it for a moment, instead of just repeating what Peterson had initially told you to say. But your eyes fell on her son, who hadn't had spoken since you'd arrived, he was looking off to the side, chin resting on his arm that was propped up by the side of the couch with a bored expression on his face. Your mood saddened as you brought your hands together, resting them on your lap."I have no take on this situation at all. Whether you chose to let me remain in your care is up to you, e-either way I hope it shan't affect you," you say wincing at your formality.
"Hmm, then I see why not."
"W-what."
"Oh, what the fuck!"
Your head snapped to the visibly pissed off boy that had now sunken into the couch; head tilted back in frustration."Really, after being silent the whole conversation, that's all you can say? I tHOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO ST-" Your mind immediately cut Mitsuki off letting you to sink back into yourself, your heart was thumping in your chest as a wave of unease washed over you. You probably looked fine on the outside, a completely unfazed façade but you could feel your body trembling. You tried to stay still; not trusting your movements but still the unsettling voice that was once dormant crept back into your head.
Hey sunshine, it's been awhile.
You were immediately sent into panic; you rubbed your palms on your school skirt in order to rid the clamminess of the sweat forming. Looking downwards you cleared your throat subtly enough to alert Peterson but quiet enough to not disturb the two bickering in front of you. He looks into your eyes sensing your discomfort.
"Please excuse us, I will have to discuss the... formalities of this with (Y/N). Thank you for your offer Mitsuki." He said with a bow. You used this as a que to hurriedly escape the room; Peterson worriedly chasing after you.
"Nom de Dieu! (Y/N)! What's wrong?"
You were pacing back and forth, breath hitched, Peterson grabbed your shoulders forcing you to look at him, your eyes glossed over, voice trembling as you reluctantly said.
"He's back."
