ANNIE'S POV !
today was friday, meaning it was the day of the test. i was scared for two reasons, one, getting a grade lower than a %100, and two, mackenzie winning the bet.
i couldn't let her win, she would never let it go and would probably tease me even more because of it. and what the hell did she mean when she said i'd become "her pet?"
i quickly shook away the thought as i approached my locker, only to find a note tapped to it, my eyebrows scrunched up in confusion as i ripped the note off and read it.

i rolled my eyes, prick. i shoved the note in my pocket and put in my locker combination, quickly getting my books for class.
i heard footsteps behind me i assumed it was mackenzie coming over to annoy me like she always does. "what do you want kenzie?" i asked, not bothering to turn around.
it was silent for a couple of seconds, "kenzie?" the voice replied, a voice who didn't belong to mackenzie, i immediately spun around to see jayden instead.
"oh! hey jay." i said, my face turning beat red out of embarrassment for assuming she was mackenzie. she stared at for a good 30 seconds before replying.
"yeah...hey, anyways i came over to ask you if you wanted to come with me and the rest of girls to chickfila during lunch?" she asked showing off her smile.
"i'd love to! im tired of staring at the nasty cafeteria food." i said while fake gagging and jayden let out a laugh. "alright, we'll ill see you at lunch, also good luck on the test!" she said and waved at me before walking away.
"you too!" i shouted after her, clutching my books under my arm, i scurried off to class.

"you may begin!" mrs carter said she handed out all the tests, i saw people immediately get to work, i flipped to the first page and starting reading the first question.
i was bouncing my leg up and down and the girl beside me kindly told me to stop. "sorry, i didn't mean to distract you, just nervous." i whispered and she smiled. "you have a good grade in this class so i think you'll be fine." she whispered back.
i smiled and she held out her hand, "lilia buckingham." she said, i kindly shook her hand. "annie leblanc."
the teacher shushed us and we laughed before getting back to work, from the corner of my eye i swore i saw mackenzie glaring at us, but when i glanced over she was staring down at her paper, weird.

lunch time finally rolled around, jayden texted me and told me to meet her at the front of the school. i walked out the school's double doors to see jayden and the rest of the girls, nadia looked up from her phone and flashed me a smile which i returned.
"since everyone's here, y'all ready to go?" lily asked and we all nodded, we trudged down the school steps and started making our way towards jayden's car.
