"Hey, slow dOoOowWn!" Jake laughed as Genie dragged him through the halls. She smiled and stuck her tongue out. "Never!" Suddenly, she screeched to a halt. "Woah-" Jake wasn't able to stop in time and bumped into her, knocking them down. They landed on the ground in a tangled-up heap. "Oof." Genie lay stunned for a moment, then started giggling quietly.
Suddenly, Jake yelped as he was lifted by the back of his shirt. "Hey!" He glared behind him as the boy holding him looked down. "You ok, Genie? This kid wasn't harassing you was he?" Jake growled and started trying to bite the hand holding him up. "I would never harass a lady. Never." The kid scoffed. "That's totally what it looked like when- OW!"
Jake hit the floor hard, but immediately bounced back. The bigger boy glared at him, holding his wrist. Genie jumped up. "Snake, what happened?!" The boy- Snake- growled. "That bloody little shite bit me!" The golden-eyed girl looked stunned, then snickered. "Well you kind of asked for it, mate. Shouldn't have grabbed him without permission." She walked over to her new friend.
"You ok? You hit really hard..." she said, straightening his blazer. He smiled. " 'M fine. Sorry for falling on you." She grinned. "No problem, mate. Shouldn't have stopped on ya so quickly." She turned. "Jake, this is one of the people I wanted you to meet, Snake Martinez. Snake, this is Jake Tyler. He's new."
Jake gave a crooked smile, holding out his hand. "No hard feelings?" Snake just glared at him and stalked off. Jake frowned. "What a jerk." Genie sighed. "Don't take it too personally. He has a fiery temper, but a good heart." The boy just shrugged and looked down. "Yeah. Sure."
Genie put a hand on his shoulder, but he shrugged it off. "Where are these other kids you wanted me to see?" She smiled, but it turned into a scowl when she glanced over his shoulder. "Grr..." He blinked, about to ask her why she was growling, when suddenly he was grabbed from behind and spun around.
A tall girl gripped his chin, tilting his head. "Hmm, you're pretty cute." She glanced over him and shrugged. "Look strong enough." The girl moved her cold hand off his face, only to seize his hand and start dragging him. He yelped, snatching his hand away. "The hell?! What's wrong with you?!"
Genie walked over and stood in between them. "Go away, Sophia! He's not joining your gang!" The girl- Sophia- sneered. "That's not up to you, Genevieve. " The golden-eyed girl matched her look. "It's not your decision either, Evelyn."
Meanwhile, Jake just stared back and forth between them, some random Tiktok he had once seen running through his head. 'Ladies, ladies, you're both pretty, can I go now?' He shook his head to clear it and said,"Yeah, I'm out." He then walked away, shaking his head at himself for getting mixed up with a girl who had golden eyes.
Really, Tyler? That's what was going through your head?
Hey, don't judge! That was terrifying! Plus we needed some humor in there so the readers don't- MMPH!
You. You shush. Don't- OI! NO BITING THE AUTHOR!
Yeah Jake, that's my move!
Haha, sorry Genie.
Hey! Don't I get an apology for being bitten?!
Hmm...nah.
Kinda your own fault, when you think about it.
