The Lodge

No One's POV

Luna and (Y/N) have been walking through the forest for another month and Luna said that they were only a few weeks from her tribe. During the past month (Y/N) has noticed something about Luna that she would occasionally be distant from him or rarely make eye contact with him. He looked over at her to have her look away from him, 'I thought that we were starting to get close.' Little do the two know that they like each other, but (Y/N) is to socially awkward to say it as Luna was trying not to fall in love due to what happened to her older sister.

The two soon walked into an open area where the trees stopped as there was a frozen over river that blocked there path. There was a small lodge that was built for travelers to rest a long time ago as the builders were never known so everyone used them as a few lodges were built throughout the snowy land. But most importantly the lodge could give them shelter for the night. (Y/N) looked at the river up and down, "Maybe we can find a way across." Luna kept her normal expression as she crossed her arm, "No, it will get to dark if we try to find a way around. We should just go straight on through." "Alright then."

The to started there walk on the large river as carefully and slowly as they could so that they wouldn't fall through the ice. A current went through the water below making the ice a little uneasy. (Y/N) was walking very slowly until he heard a crack making him panic as he looked down. He didn't see anything to look behind him as Luna stood still while the ice below her started to crack a little which meant that she stepped on a  weak spot.

Luna started to panic a little as (Y/N) tried to calm her, "Just stay still and move slowly towards me." He started to move towards her as he was planning to help her get out of this mess even though Luna told him to not get close to her. (Y/N) stopped as when Luna took another step the ice under both of her feet gained a few cracks. The ice started to break until the ice below her gave out making her fall through and land in the water below. The current carried her away a bit until the river narrowed and she was stopped by the ground which allowed her to swim up to bang on the ice above to have it not break as she began to lose consciousness. The world started to go black as she then saw a the branch (Y/N) used to walk go through the ice as she then felt something drag her out of the water as she became unconscious. 

Luna's POV  

I felt warm as I opened my eyes to see that I was in front of a fireplace as I was in a lodge. I felt something heavy on me to look on my shoulders to see (Y/N)'s jacket on me. It was kinda heavy, 'He walks around all day wearing this? Well he did break through the ice so I guess he is pretty strong.' I the felt my cheeks heat up a little bit as I thought about how strong he is, 'Why am I blushing?' I then heard (Y/N)'s voice, "Oh, your up." I looked over at him as he was only wearing warm pants and a coat as he also had a scar on his face that went from the end of his right eyebrow down to his cheek. 'I could see the outline of his muscles as he sat down. I soon looked at the fire, 'No stop looking!' He then sat down in front of the fireplace to as I looked at him, "Why are you wearing so little?" "Well we are inside in front of a fire. You don't really need that much to be warm in a place like this. You can take off my jacket, I just put it on you because you were shivering and wet." "Oh, yeah that makes since. And thank you for keeping me warm." He then smiled as he looked at me as he smiled, "No problem." This is the first time that i've seen his face and his smile. I quickly looked away as I felt my cheeks to start to heat up again. I soon though heard him talk again, "Have I done something wrong?" 

I looked back at him, "What? No, why would you say that?" "Well whenever I try to be nice or friendly to you, you give me the cold shoulder. You've been like that for a month. So I wanna know if I did something so that I don't do it again." He seemed to look sad in his eyes which made me feel bad, "Well, I- I just didn't want to get to close to you." This intrigued him it seemed, "Why?" I looked down as I shuffled a bit, "Well, that's because I..." I didn't say anything to hear (Y/N), "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I bent my knees where I was in a ball as I wrapped my arms around my legs, "No it's fine."

I took a deep breathe to start the story that happened a few years ago, "A few years ago my older sister fell in love with a human." This surprised him a little as I continued, "He was a scout for his clan he said, but he told her that he wouldn't say a word about her and our tribe to his clan. After a while they soon fell in love and we all met him. He seemed nice and was pretty fun. One day he offered to take my sister to see his clan in a week and she agreed. We were worried but happy for her and my father was delighted as he has wanted to make peace with a human clan since he became the leader of the tribe. Sadly though when she came back she was crying and was missing her tail. My siblings and I heard her crying from our parents room and as it turns out he wasn't in a clan. He was a fur trapper and apparently wolf people's fur is worth a lot between humans."

No One's POV

Luna's hands clenched into fists, "I remember how sad she was for so long and I promised to never get hurt like that." She then held (Y/N)'s jacket, "But when I'm around you I feel like how my older sister said she used to feel." She then looked at (Y/N) who nodded, "Well that's understandable. I will keep my distance if that's what you want." Luna's ears pressed against her head, "But you seem different." "How exactly?" "Well through the time that we've been together you could have taken my tail, ears, or life. But you've helped me many times and still want to take me home. Your nice, kind, and brave." (Y/N) blushed a little and when Luna realized what she said, which made her blush as well, she looked away from (Y/N), "S-so why do you want to help me so badly." "Well because I know what it's like to not have a family to turn to, who also helps you through times, and is always here for. Without one it gets very lonely. I want to take you home because you only have one family who loves you." Luna saw sadness in (Y/N)'s eyes as he then stood up, "Well, i'll get our blankets so that we can sleep."

A few moments later the two were sleeping separately until (Y/N) noticed Luna get under his blankets, which she hasn't done since a month ago when he was hurt. She avoided eye contact with him by looking down as she turned to him, "I know that it won't work and I have tried to get rid of these feelings but I can't." She then gained the courage to look up at him, "I-I like you." (Y/N) simply smiled "I like you too Luna." This surprised Luna as she blushed, "Y-you have to promise to never hurt me." "I will never hurt you." "Do you promise?" (Y/N) petted her head, "I promise." "You won't betray me?" "I won't betray you." "You won't leave me for someone better?" "I refuse to believe that there is someone better." She then enveloped (Y/N) into a hug, "Don't lie to me!" (Y/N) returned her hug as she wrapped his arms around her waist, "I would never lie to you." " Luna's tail then started to wag back and fourth until she looked worried, "But what about when we get to my tribe?" "Then I will stay by you, no matter what." Luna gained enthusiasm, "I'll show them! I'll show them that your different!" "I know you will." After a month of bottling up there feelings the two spent the night together in their newly found love.

A:N - If the wolf girl in the picture above is part of an anime, I had no idea. She just looked right for the story.
