SENA worked herself like a dog for the rest of the week in order to take her mind off her father's letter. Even her friends noticed her change in behavior and as a result, they conspired to go on a shopping retreat on Saturday to remove some of the edge. When her three girl friends and Nick showed up to her door at seven a.m., Sena was halfway asleep and pissed that she was forced to be up at such an early hour.

"Why are you here?"

The four smiled before rushing into her apartment and heading towards her kitchen to make breakfast. Nick was the first to actually speak to her as he washed his hands in the sink.

"Well, hello sunshine! How was your night?"

Sena stared at him blank faced, and he just laughed as he got started on making eggs. Sena rolled her eyes when she finally realized that her friends were going nowhere, so instead of mopping around, she reluctantly smiled and sat at the island. She couldn't help but to laugh as Bri belted out the lyrics to Usher while mixing pancake batter.

As much as she hated to admit, her friends could always tells when her mood was off and as a result, they'd curated a way to bring her happiness when those off days occurred. No matter how hard Sena tried to put on a stone face, her closest friends could always see right through it, much to her dismay, but as she grew older she learned to accept that only the most trustworthy people were able to see through her facade, so she took the love with open arms.

Everyone's mouth watered as Kiely set the last plate of food in the middle of the counter. A fully cooked meal of bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, coffee, milk, orange juice, and syrup laid nearly in the middle of the room. As soon as the last friend sat on their bar stool, everyone helped themselves to a feast.

Laughter and chatter filled the room while r&b music played over the sound. The group enjoyed themselves for about an hour and started to talk about their shopping spree towards the end of the meal.

"I need a whole new wardrobe," Rayne groaned.

"My entire aesthetic has changed."

Nick rolled his eyes as this was Rayne's third time changing her wardrobe in the past five years.

"What's the aesthetic now?"

"Hear me out," she paused to give a dramatic effect before putting on a huge smile.

"An e-girl aesthetic."

With that, the entire table groaned.

"What? I like the clothing!"
