It all started three years ago in 7th grade. No one could see what was wrong but it didn't change that the only rift in our grade was them two. Only the two boys knew and they weren't about to tell anyone anytime soon. So what did happen?
"Ok class, we have a project coming up soon, I want everyone to choose their own partners please," Ms. Diana announced to the whole class. Being a thirteen year old in middle school, this project was the buzz of the whole grade.
"Who are you doing it with?" Kaoklong slung his school bag down on the table as he sat down next to Yohan.
"Stirlia."
"Oh really? I heard she's doing it with Fah."
"Oh...uh idk, you?"
"Jom."
"Cool..." Yohan sighed and pulled out his phone, dialing his best friend's number.
[Hello?]
[Stirlia, I thought we were doing it together.]
[Babe, Fah asked me first, sorry.]
[We're together, do I even have to ask you!]
[Yes! I'm busy right now.]
[Stirli--]
Yohan slammed his phone down on the table, not caring that his screen had cracked. The noise was so sudden that Kaoklong flinched and looked up at the furrowed frown on Yohan's face. He rubbed Yohan's back and gave him a sympathetic smile as the latter sat down and burrowed his head between his hands.

"Alright class, since not everyone has partners, I have paired up the rest for you guys." Ms. Diana said, while looking at two boys who seem to be in quite a foul mood.
Yohan turned to his right, eyes meeting the equally blazing gaze of a dark haired boy. He rolled his eyes thinking to himself, "I've never talked to that kid, why am I being paired with him? Oh right, cuz my own girlfriend ditched me." The other boy took the project packet from Ms. Diana's hands and silently got out of his seat to approach Yohan. A small tap brought Yohan back from his moping and he scooted over to let the boy take a seat.
"Name's Patrick," a soft voice coming from such a hard glare took Yohan by surprise.
"Yohan," he held out his hand but Patrick just ignored it, eyes already scanning the packet.
"I know. I'm surprised why you didn't have a partner, usually you do don't you, Mr. Popular." Patrick ran a hand through his hair as he glanced up from the packet. His lips pulled up in a smirk.
"Shut up, what about you? Why didn't you have a partner, Mr. Handsome." It was a weak retort but Yohan wasn't in the mood to fail a project because of his foul mouth.
"I'm usually the odd one out of my group. I usually pair with anyone left anyway. It used to be Angelina but she paired up with the new kid. Guess she didn't like me." Yohan scoffed at such a reply. Self centered much was all that ran through Yohan's head. Surprisingly Patrick smiled and uttered a small "just kidding" which only made Yohan laugh. Maybe this project won't be terrible after all...
---
"Get out! What the fuck man!" Fire blazed in the brown orbs of a frazzled and frustrated boy. A hand tried to grasp the frazzled boy, trying to get the other to calm down.
Yohan yanked his wrist from Patrick's grasp, his blood boiling with anger the longer he stared at the boy. Patrick's face showed no emotion and maybe that was what irked Yohan more. Their project was almost finished when Patrick had accidentally logged out of the computer, all their hard work over the past week, gone. Worse, the project was due tomorrow.
