Two years later...
Yuta woke up that morning wondering why he felt cold. He didn't actually feel cold but next to him was just an empty space that was usually filled by his sleeping buddy. Yuta turned over and got up, the sun blinding his eyes. He was in the new house that they had bought about 6 months ago. Unfortunately, the last week they had somehow broken the blinds and had to wake up at 5 am every morning. It wasn't 5 am right now though. It was 7 am. Cursing, he got up and waited for his eyes to adjust to the light. Once he did, he saw a box. A large box just sitting on the side of the bed.
Yuta, half asleep, pulled the box into his lap, and tried to open it. Really tried. It was sealed tight with tape and he was too lazy to get some scissors. Eventually he got it, once again cursing for no realistic reason.
Inside, there was a small piece of paper that said, I hope you like this outfit I got you. Once you get changed, go down to the kitchen; I made you breakfast. Yuta smiled and opened the box. It was a white button up with black stripes and some black jeans. Simple but attractive.
He put it on, went down to the kitchen and found some pancakes and an assortment of chocolate, fruit and sprinkles. Now, Sicheng wasn't much of a cook and Yuta wasn't much of a food critique, but the pancakes were delicious. He wasn't sure if its because he added a lot of fruit and syrup but he could stay there all day eating pancakes.
When he was finished, and placed the dish in the sink, he realised that under his plate, on the table, was another note. Yuta was surprised. This was the most effort he had seen Sicheng put into for what appears to be a treasure hunt.
I hope the pancakes were good, I spent all weekend trying to make them perfect. Could you go the beach, please?? I'll meet you there!
Yuta chuckled in amusement. He grabbed his phone, checked that Sicheng hadn't left the stove on the oven on for some reason and was on his way to the beach. He got out and continued his way to the beach, after cursing himself for walking in the complete wrong direction for almost 5 minutes. Not too bad but still enough for him to re-evaluate his life choices.
In the end, Yuta finally made it to the beach. Immediately, he saw everyone in his friends group. It was amusing to look at, as Sicheng was smack in the middle whilst the chaos unfolded around him. You could already imagine how that would be. Yuta quietly walked towards the odd group, and snuck up on Sicheng. The latter jumped, "Jeez, Chenle, if you-" he stopped when he realised that it wasn't Chenle. It was, in fact, Yuta, who was snickering.
"Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure that Chenle has scared me about thirty times in the last 20 minutes." Sicheng explained, watching over his shoulder for the latter. Yuta saw Chenle hanging out with the maknaes under Doyoung's supervision, which was probably was the best. Yuta laughed, "Well, why did you want me to come here?" he asked.
Sicheng smiled at him before pulling a small box out of his pocket. "Because of this." he simply replied. Suddenly, he got down on one knee, and said, "Yuta, the love of my life, my soulmate, will you marry me?" inside the box was the most beautiful ring Yuta had ever seen in his life.
Yuta's voice amost died, and he could only croak out a tiny "yes" as Sicheng slid the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly. Yuta felt his heart beat raise up so fast he could barely hear it. Sicheng must've realized that Yuta was on the brink of blacking out, so he wrapped his arms around the smaller's waist and let him lean onto his chest.
