"Tigs! Tigs?" a bubbly, feminine voice pierces through my current trail of thoughts.

Sighing, I turn around to face my bestfriend, Lucia, amused to see her bright blue eyes twinkling with excitement.

"I told you to stop calling me that - my name is Teagan".

"Yeah, sure whatever Tigs" she replies with a laugh.

I roll my eyes. It's like she thinks I am some kind of cat or something. Then again, would being a cat necessarily be a bad thing..?
I mean imagine all the things that you would be able to do. You could sleep all day, do whatever you wanted and even-

Suddenly, without warning, Lucia grabs my wrist and starts pulling me towards one of the many colourful play pens that surround us.

"Lu-" I begin to yelp but stop abruptly when I see what she has brought me to.

Infront of me is an adorable, brown eyed, Chocolate Labrador puppy. His little tail wagging eagerly and his head tilts to the side when Lucia begins cooing over him.

"Oh isn't he just so cute?" she gushes, not even attempting to tear her eyes away from him.

I nod, forgetting that she wasn't looking at me for a moment before murmuring out a barely coherent yes.

Ever since my dog Lottie died, I've been missing her like crazy. My parents had gotten her before I was born, so it meant that I was able to grow up with her. She was almost like a big furry sibling to me and had always slept at the foot of my bed; it feels alien-like not finding her there when I wake up in the mornings.

However, seeing this other dog brings unshed tears to my eyes. I rub them hastily, before they dare to spill and I become a blubbering mess. Pushing away all thoughts of Lottie, I turn back to Lucia, hoping that she hasn't noticed anything.

"I still don't understand why we're here though. You're not even allowed a fish, let alone a dog".

We're currently standing in the middle of the mall's pet shop. After having to endure hours of clothes shopping, Lucia had dragged me here claiming that it was important.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise a girl wasn't allowed to dream!" she huffs, taking her eyes away from the puppy who was now licking his...yeah...down there.

I laugh, before pulling my phone out from my jeans pocket as I feel it vibrate.

A triumphant grin spreads across my lips as I read the message.

'Be home in 10. I'm making tomato pasta.
Love you'

Tomato pasta is my all-time favourite meal. In my opinion, it's even better than most pizzas.

"Sorry Chi, I gotta go home now. Do you mind dropping me off?" I ask as I turn back to face her.

"Duhh, of course!" She replies, smiling. "Do you really think I would make you walk home?".

Well...
