"Phoenix! Phoenix pay attention." Agent Adler snaps while I'm calculations in my head. "Yea, what do you want?" I respond, causing my fellow teammates to chuckle around me. "Like I said the government has decided that the league of villains threat is getting too high. Phoenix will be collaborating with the hero council's new puppet, Hawks. You'll be going to the hero council's headquarters to receive the full mission information and get a dynamic going with your new partner. I remind you to play nice, even though you outrank all of those members there." Adler explains before dismissing us, causing us all to leave the room.

I follow everyone out of the room. "I can't believe they're sending you to work with a hero. Like didn't they learn a lesson after the last five had emotional break downs." Froid says before chuckling lightly, walking backwards down the hall in front of us. Chit chat filled the small hall as we walk towards the 'living' room. Technically we all lived in the base, and we all have our own rooms. We also had a kitchen, dining room, training rooms, debriefing room, and a few other rooms. All these rooms we're only meant for the eleven of us, including me. That how it works though when you work for the government, and live in approved areas since we're 'dangerous.' "Yeah, this isn't going to end well." I respond boredly, already done with this mission pairing. We enter the living room and I split off from the group a bit. " I should go pack up. Hopefully I'll see you guys in a couple of days. If everything work out in my favor." I pipe up, already moving away from the group. " Gotcha, we'll see you around (Y/n)." Asahi responds cheerfully, his flaming hair bouncing up and brightening with his cheerfulness.

I wave bye to them and go down on of the halls, this one leads to my bedroom and Pops' is right across from mine along with Ma  at the very end of the room. They're all of ours adopted parents except for Pops' two older brothers who work with us as well. None of the others and I come from the best home environments. That's how we ended up here, and our strong quirks as well. Finally reaching my door, I put my code into the keypad. It slides open and I walk in quickly, grabbing one of my drawstring bags I had hanging up. I start to fill the bag with a few outfits and other essentials, figuring that this attempt wouldn't last more than a few days.  Seeing that I had some time to spare, I decided to send out a text to Perl and Hibiki. 'Hey, can you guys find anything you can about Hawks. I know the power couple of technology can handle that, right?' I send out, smirking since I already knew the answer. 'Don't insult me, of course I can! I'll have it for you soon.' Perl texts back, she's always been the fastest person I've ever know when it comes to texting back. Hibiki just send a thumb up emoji in the group chat. Even over text he chooses to be a selective mute. I send out a text saying thanks before putting my phone away.

I walk out of my room with my bag, and head down the hall. I head to the main entrance/ exit. I open the door to the clearance room and see Agent Adler standing there waiting for me. "Are you ready to begin the mission." I simply nod at her question, ready to get this over and done with already. The heavy doors open with a hiss and the light from the outside world flooded in. I walked out the door and sighed peacefully, looking up at the sky with a small smile. Freedom. The feeling of freedom flooded over me, the feeling of actual sunlight and fresh air. Not the base lights and air circulation from the vents. Unfortunately that moment didn't last long since I had to get into the back seats of the car.
