Chapter 4

Maya's POV

I clicked on the FaceTime app and called Riley.

Her face popped up immediately.

"Hey!!" She said cheerfully.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Nothing. I am hungry." She said.

"Story of my life."

I watched as Riley stood up. "I'm gonna get some. Be right back."

She disappeared and all I could see now was her bedroom wall.

I reached into my backpack and grabbed out my baggy of goldfish.

I heard sound effects from my phone.

I looked to hear footsteps in Riley's bedroom.

"Maya?" The voice said.

"Oh hey Lucas!" I said, waving.

He sat down. "It sure has been awhile."

"It has."

"How have you been??"

I shrugged. "Alright. Soon we will be living under the same roof.

"Oh goody." Lucas said saracastically. He then chuckled. "Nah it'll be cool, I missed having you here."

I felt my face get red and I couldn't help but smile.

"Lucas what are you doing?!" Riley's voice returned.

I saw Lucas turn around. "Just talking to Maya."

"Aka your girlfriend."

"Stop it!"

I blinked. "I'm right here."

Lucas looked back at the screen. "Guess I gotta go. See you later hart!"

He then disappeared.

Riley returned on my screen and had a weird expression on her face.

"When you move in, there pretty not be any funny business." She said seriously.

Knowing what she meant, I covered my ears and said "shut up shut up shut up!!"

Riley grinned. "This will be fun."
