Jungkook's POV
"Honey." I heard my mom's voice call me on the other side of my locked bedroom door, knocking, asking for permission to come in.
I got off my navy blue king sized bed which was covered with dirty clothes and food stains. I put on one of the millions of white shirts, smelling to check if it was clean — it wasn't— and opened the door for my mom, who greeted me with a sweet smile.
"Remember you're soon to be step dad and his son are coming over today. So clean your room." She said after seeing the big mess I made.
"What's that terrible smell?" She said, wiggling her nose.
"I don't smell anything." I shrugged.
She smelt the air around her, hen came closer and smelt me before backing away with a disgusting look on her face.
"When last did you take a shower?" She asked.
"Yesterday, but I just finished working out." I said.
"Please, I begging you, take a bath. You smell like you've been living on the streets for weeks." She sighed before walking away but I called her back.
"Wait, did you say his son was coming?" I asked her, nervous to hear the answer, and all she did was smile. "Mom, you didn't tell me anything about a stepbrother." I whined.
"Relax, he goes to your school, so you most likely know him." She tried to cheer me up.
"You know I only talk to Jimin, Hobi and Lisa." I said. I don't really like talking to a lot of people, so I keep my friend group limited. I'm just shy around people who I don't know well. I've known my friends since elementary school, so I was used to their company.
"Then, now's your chance to make a new friend." She said and I sighed. "Honey, you'll be fine, okay?" She said with a reassuring smile before leaving.
I sighed before closing back my door. I wasn't exact excited to meet my new step dad and brother. It's not like I have anything against them, I'm just not good with meeting new people. What if they end up hating me?
Ever since we lost my dad and little brother in the fire, my mom has never been the same. She barely ate, slept or even smiled, she was completely out of it. When she met Hyunsoo, she was back to her normal self. I'm happy that she's happy, but what if they don't like me or I embarrass myself like I always do?
I looked around my room and scoffed. It's not that messy. I said taking a step in, feeling a sticky substance on my sock. I slowly lifted my foot, seeing cake from two months ago on my sock. Maybe my room is dirty after all .
I took my bedsheet off the floor and put it back on my bed, clean side up. I took up the pizza box that had been laying under my bed for about a month and threw it away. I took up all the dirty clothes laying around my room and put them in the laundry basket. I sprayed the room to drown out the smell of vomit and cleaned the floor. My room actually looked decent for once.
I took a long bubble bath and got some clean clothes. I wore my default outfit, my white button up shirt, blue jeans and timberlands. I style my hair out of my face because it was getting really long and I didn't want it to get in my face.
"Honey, they're here!" My mom said from downstairs as I watched their car pull up in the driveway.
"Coming!" I shouted in response. I slowly walked down the stairs, waiting for my mom to open the door. When she opened it I saw Hyunsoo, who gave her a hug. When they pulled away my mom called me over.
"Hi." I awkwardly said with a smile, while waving.
"Jungkook, I've heard so many good things about you." He said, he seemed nice I guess.
Soon his son walked up beside him, leaning against the door frame. My eyes widened and I stumbled back.
"T-Taehyung.." I said under my breath, while he stared straight into my eyes. Trying to act normal, I leaned against the coat rack but ended up knocking it over like an idiot, but I caught it right before it could hit the floor. I looked up nervously and a slight chuckle escaped his lips.
"Hi Jungkook." He said in his usual deep voice that sent shivers down my spine.
He was going to be my stepbrother? God no! Anyone but him.
Anyone but Kim Taehyung.
