Chapter 1: A Goodbye

(It's currently 5 AM and my flight to Toronto is at 8 AM so I've got to rush to pack my remaining things and hurry to the airport.)

Mom: Lily dear! Don't forget your phone and charger!

Lilianne: Oh right! How stupid I almost forgot it.. Sorry. *soft chuckle*

(I can't believe I almost left one of my most prized possessions! I cannot live without my phone and I am not exaggerating. All my social media are in here and I need to contact my family and old friends once in a while. Stupid Lilianne! Don't forget. Phone! Phone! Phone!)

Dad: Lily, remember while it's important to top your class, it is also as important to make a lot of friends and enjoy high school life alright? Don't you ever forget that.

Mom: Oh! Also, make sure to get a chance to be with a hot and rich boy okay?

Lilianne: Mom?! Are you kidding me? I'm still 13! That's not so appropriate.

Mom: *bursts into laughter* I know.. I know.. Don't be mad Lily dear. I was simply joking. Look at your face in the mirror! You look like your about to have a battle with your own mother!

Lilianne: Yeah.. I'm chill now. But don't ever joke with me like that ever again mom! It's not funny.

(I wonder if I would really find love there. Will they actually befriend a poor person like me? Wait! Why are you even entertaining that rubbish idea?! Snap out of it Lilianne Chan! Snap out!)

Lilianne: Mom! It's already 6:50! We're going to be late!

Mom: Yes! I'll be right there Lily! I'll just take the car keys. Give me 5 minutes!

(Who looks for keys for more than a minute? She must have lost them. Oh well... I'll just chat my old classmates from elementary.)
