So, something potentially dangerous was stalking you. Great.

"What the hell did I do.." you mutter to yourself.

And the answer was simple. Nothing.

Ok, yes you've seen some unnatural stuff. However, the things happening around you were creeping into reality more vividly and that was breaking or more like, jumping up and down on your perception of real life like a trampoline.

"Once you leave, it will find you again." the being returns to its table.

"I don't even know what it is or what it wants" Approaching the being your attention is drawn to the table's contents. One side of it was occupied by a few empty small bottles, a mortar and pestle and a few pots flipped upside down and stacked on each other.

On the other, however, was an almond shaped basin filled with clear water and some sand which covered the bottom. The hooded figure's reflection moved along with its owner.

....

Wait.

Something just moved in the sand.

A small snake like body sprang up suddenly from the sand and the being chuckled as you stared wide-eyed at the creature.

The sand moved again.

One more.

Two.

Three.

More and more popped out of the sand and looked at you with their tiny beady eyes.

They looked like garden eels but the horns on their foreheads indicated that they weren't ordinary ones. Huddling together and swishing their bodies through the sand they surrounded what seemed to be a bright shining stone. Eyes gleaming their heads remained focused towards your direction.

A cloth obstructs your view.

"We will test something" their sleeve then moves from you towards the empty circle shaped center of the room.

"I'm not really keen on experiments" your words follow the figure as they carry a small pot in one hand and go to the farthest part of the circle's edge.

"I do not have a hobby of hurting humans, you will only need to observe and then take whichever action you consider best" they reach into their pocket and take out an item then clasp it in their sleeves.

For some reason that emphasis on "humans" didn't sound as great as it should have been.

You position yourself on the opposite edge of the circle and try to focus on your surroundings. Should you run, you wouldn't get far, but the empty space around you was enough to at least dodge whatever might happen.

The giant jellyfish lamp loomed over you. Silence took over and the dripping sounds of water disappeared.

"Ready?"

No, completely not ready.

*whoosh*

The being threw it upwards.

Time seemed to slow down the higher the item flew. It did not go beyond the circle's center that was the bridge between you and the hooded figure.
