A Special Chocolate cake

Memory lane...

Australia,2019...

Rohit was laying on the bed scrolling down the Instagram randomly after dinner. When one post of Yuvraj Singh's 6 six's came with  Young Rohit Sharma jumping with his pads and helmet on.

"How boyish I look. Even Yuvi paa and Bhai looks so young." Rohit wondered with a smile. That was technically his debut. He was little nerves when the match started but with Yuvi paa's six's all he could think was jumping forgetting that he might have to bat next.

 That video brought back old memories. Rohit opened his cloud account which has sorted folders based on the year. Though for someone as messy and lazy as Rohit is surprising that he can collect maintain so many pictures, Rohit was always keen about collecting pictures. 

"They are the only way to relive the most beautiful memories." he believed. Earlier he used to maintain albums. A few years back Rithika made a soft copy of them making it more accessible.

He opened the folder named 2007 and scrolled down through his Ranji trophy and junior team pics to his pictures with Indian Cricket team. His debut series with Ireland... All he remembered about that series was starring at his idol's. Pictures showed nothing different. 

In almost every picture he was standing staring at Sachin, Ganguly, Sehwag, Dravid... The legends. Sometimes to see what they are doing and most of the time just to belive the fact that he is actually sharing the dressing room with them. 

A pic of Rohit getting his debut ODI cap from Sachin popped up. Rohit still got goosebumps as he was smiling continuously.

Entire series he didn't talk to anyone. Well, All were seniors and they carried a very confident aura around them which intimidated Rohit. Only Suresh was around his age but he debuted a year earlier and seem so comfortable with  Yuvraj and Dhoni that he was always around them. So Rohit pulled back the idea of talking to him also. 

Then came the pics of 2007 t20 WC. 

*Rohit was waiting outside the bus 15 minutes early.* 

"Virat might faint if I say I was so early to bus." Rohit chuckled as he thought.

*Rohit was sitting in the bus and looking out of the window while Yuvraj Singh was climbing it*

Rohit by mistake sat in Yuvraj Singh's seat and Yuvi being Yuvi Shooed him away arrogantly scaring the already nervous Rohit Sharma. 

"How can I forget this?" Rohit signed as he quickly sent it Yuvi.  "Yaad hai?" He texted. Yuvi was offline so he went back to see pictures.

*Rohit and DK walking down the bus together talking something."

He smiled realising who he went and sat beside DK totally scared after Yuvi's 'bullying'.

"Yaar...Woh Yui hai... It's common. Don't take it seriously." were Dk's exact words of motivation. But they end up scaring even more because he thought Bullying is common. But somehow DK still managed to make feel comfortable and became his first friend in the team.

*MS was talking to someone on phone while Rohit was standing behind him nervous and scared.*

"First time I forgot my phone on the bus. How scared I was to tell that to Mahi Bhai." Rohit muttered to himself smiling amused.

"Well, Not Mahi Bhai back then... He was just an intimidation young Caption." He thought.

"But he didn't say a word at that time and also retrieved my phone. Abb tho inta zyada daath the hai." He complained to himself as he scrolled to the next picture.
