9th November 1916
Dearest Love,
I am truly so sorry for you lost.
Times like these make me wish I was there
with you to hold you. To protect you. Both of you.Well I am happy that you have got a dog. They are
good and loyal animal. Piper is a good name as well.I must let you know as I don't know how well I will
be able to get back from you. As every week we seem to be
moving all of the place. If you don't hear back from me for a week,
two weeks or even an month don't worry. You must be hopeful my love as it is the only way.
I need you to be hopeful not only for myself but what about Robin.
I know that I am asking a lot of you but it is what is needed. It is getting worse out there Maggie. I fear that I am scared.
But I keep on thinking how much worse can it get. Surely it has to get better soon.I apologise that this couldn't be a more happier letter but
sometimes it is hard to always to happy.Love From, Will
